It didn't work out the box. I returned it and got a different one.

I installed this in my Intel NUC since I had a spare mSATA lying around, and a few seconds after powering on I smelled burning. I would not recommend this adapter as it does not work and will short whatever motherboard it gets plugged into.

It works great on my MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015).

I modified my Optiplex 7020's BIOS to be able to boot from an NVME drive in the PCIe slot. Then I paired this adapter with a Crucial 1TB NVME drive and placed it in the PCIe x16 slot. It booted up as it should. I am getting read/write speeds now of over 3,000MB/s. The only con/unknown that I can see with this adapter is that there is no positive way that I can see to attach the heatsink to the drive itself other than relying on the adhesive properties of the included thermal pads. So far it's all still stuck together as it should be.

As it says in the description it does not support mini PCI-E which means this will not work with Google Coral. I tried on two machines anyway but it was not successful. Also note it is too wide to fit in the m.2 slot of the Coofun GK41.Seems like otherwise it would work great.

The PCI-e card works fines and gives lots of clearance from the m.2 and PCB but don't add the thermal pads and Heat-sink given with the product. Not only does the Heatsink provide a lack of cooling, but the thermal pads that are given to attach the Heatsink to the M.2 NVMe stick make it nearly impossible to separate after. For any untrained person trying to change the heatsink, they will probably break their m.2 in the process. The thermal pads that are given seem to be cloth/gauze mixed-in with gum-like ("silicone") glue.I'd recommend buying something like the Sabrent Rocket Heatsink with this (or the SABRENT PCI-E to m.2 card). if planning to buy a different heatsink with this card, don't get something that uses a cheap glue-like thermal pad to keep the heatsink on the m.2 directly.

The price and being able to run additional NVME drives is a no-brainer. I am using this with a 1TB drive as my video and Steam library; just be sure you have enough PCI-E bandwidth/lanes. The only thing I was leery about was the push install, but I have had zero issues.

So, here some pros and cons.Pros:It works fine with a nvme SSD that I picked up during a sale. Even the cheapest nvme drive is much faster than a SATA drive which serves great as a cache drive.Cons:The heatsink is not supported. its held on by the thermal paste glue. So when the drive warms up and the heat sink warms up and eventually, the glue will fail. This worries me that the heat sync will fall on other metal components and cause a short in the system. I am considering using a thin rubber band to help. They should have a screw-in mechanism for the heat sinks.Otherwise, it's a good adapter, cheap and effective.
