Used it to retrieve data from a dead notebook. Pulled the SSD from the notebook, installed it in this contraption, transferred my data to the new notebook. The whole swap was super easy.

Although I never heard of this company and there weren't many reviews, it was on sale and there was a coupon so I took a chance and purchased it. I wanted to get a drive that came with both USB-C and regular USB cable and this one did.I'm a PC builder/seller as a hobby and this is something that would come in handy not only to transfer files but also format/troubleshoot m2 SSDs without having to put them in a motherboard. This device easily does that. So far I've had no issues with M.2 NVME or M.2 SATA SSD sticks. They read every time and putting them in the case is fast and simple to me, especially since you do not need any tools. Transfer speeds are as fast as my drives support so no issue there.I like that it clicks in and everything seems fairly secure. Others mentioned the plastic thing to lock the stick in, its pretty easy, make sure its in the unlocked position and push down on the stick with a little force, you'll hear a click and then you can rotate the plastic thing to lock it in. You are provided a spare plastic locking mechanism for whatever reason.Since I'm always swapping sticks out for various reasons, this product makes it fast and easy to do so. It's compact, feels durable and pretty solid overall. I would recommend this product and would buy again (albeit this is my first so I have nothing to compare it to), but I have no complaints, works as expected, give it a try.

I am very happy with this device except for one detail. The plastic knob they used instead of a screw to keep SSD in place is not the most convenient or the most durable. Although they provide a spare one.But it is minor and I am still giving it 5 stars.ADVICE:If you would not see your new SSD after installing it into enclosure and connection to USB port, do not panic. It might mean that your SSD is not activated and no volume created on it.Use Windows' "Disk Manager" utility to activate SSD and to create one volume there.

I bought this to clone the 500GB ssd from my OneXPlayer to a 4tb WD to improve storage. First issue: a 2280 does NOT properly fit in this case. You have to remove the screw and leave it out if you want it to connect these long drives.Next: While Win11 had no problems recognising a drive was present when plugged into Microusb and USB 3 ports, I kept getting an error when initializing the new drive. Concerned there was a problem with the drive at this point, I took the PC, drive and enclosure to a local repair shop. Their ssd enclosure had no issues talking to, initializing the WD ssd and, since I didn't want to wait another week, cloning the old OS at the low low price of $60.We tested this with other cards (not 2280) and they worked fine in this enclosure--including the 500gb ssd when I got this home and performed the swap. So, does this work? Yes. Does it work as advertised with what I own? A resounding NO.

I have a pile of NVMe SSDs that I use for different tasks, like backups, transporting files, etc, so an enclosure like this is key. The one I’ve had for a few years works well, but recently got roped into full-time duty so I needed another, and this is what I bought. The new one is lighter than the old (hooray for technological improvement!) and seems to be even faster. Both run at 5gbit/sec but my Macs just seem to find this one more quickly than the old. Even better, it came with two cables so it works whether you’re connecting to a USB-C port or USB-A.My only warning is that the tiny, rotating lock to hold the SSD in place can be a bit finicky and it likes to pop out. Fortunately this kit comes with two, so it’s not a real problem. All told, I’m very happy with this purchase and I think you will be too.

For the prices this is a no brainer. Check the description for compatibility with your M.2 drive. This works straight out of the box in Windows 11.The metal enclosure does get warm to dissipate heat.As mentioned by another reviewer hold the interface so as to not pull internal interface from enclosure when disconnecting USB cord. It's easy to pull out.
