This thing is not really what it says it is. It is not a clock/timer chip. This is a package with a crystal and a lithium battery. I had to consult the data sheet to figure it out. I measured the battery terminals and saw 3.3 V.The only really useful purpose for this is to be soldered over the ACTUAL timer chip; this device supplies backup power for the clock (and the battery is not intended to be replaceable), and a crystal for the oscillator.
