I wanted to like these, but was spooked off by having to download and install some clearly chinese developed software. Pretty sure windows flagged their software as a virus, so into the garbage these went.

These are the coolest temperature and humidity data loggers I have seen. They work extremely well in all types of environments and the PDF output chart is excellent for telling what is going on. It also outputs a Excel file with all the data collection points. So you could chart temperature and humidity other ways if you wanted to.The software is somewhat simple, in that when you download it, and extract the zip file, you don't actually install the software on the computer, you simply run the software file from the folder. At least that is the conclusion I came to, and how I ran it. Note that the instructions are not really the best, but once you figure it out, it is rather easy to set up things the way you want. Keep in mind, to configure the unit with the software (including setting the time to the local time), you need to make sure the unit is asleep, and that the data is cleared from the unit. If you don't do that, then the software will not find the unit and will not load the configuration file from the unit itself. You can set alarm settings so that the unit will red flag events when the temperature or humidity levels go above or below the alarm settings. See the two attached pictures, one with alarm settings and one without.To download the PDF and Excel files, you don't need the software, you simply plug it in to a computer USB plug and the files will be present on the USB device, where you can copy and download them to a computer.The battery is a CR2450 battery that can last up to 90 days of recording.So with all of these features, and given the fact that you can reuse these over and over again, and have long recording times, and set the temperature to Celsius or Fahrenheit, the price is quite reasonable as compared to the single use units. These are ideal for lots of different types of applications, and by having more than one, you can chart lots of different environmental conditions, both from a cold aspect of things to a room running too hot aspect of things.

First, this device deserves 4 stars, it does what it say it will do and it works out of the box if you are okay with one sample every 10 minutes for up to 90 days. The default has no alarms set, the problem arises if you want to change anything, if you want an alarm or if you want to change the duration of the sampling. Even the little booklet that they send with the unit is pretty useless. If you go to the website in that booklet you will find a better user manual. The main thing is that the software will not connect to the logger unless it's in sleep mode.I feel like the default settings are pretty good for most people so not everyone will need to bother with all the mess but it still shouldn't happen in this day and time. Almost any software engineer could do way better than what they provide.You're probably asking why I give this 4 stars, it does what it says it will do and it does it well. The reports work great, the accuracy is really good. I wouldn't have any problem giving them 5 stars if they'd fix the configuration software.

This device logs temperature and humidity at whatever interval you choose. Its operation is simple, but you do need to read the manual carefully with regard to how you operate the two buttons to get your desired result.The downloadable app will NOT recognize the device unless it is in sleep mode. It is only used for reading and setting parameters. The device will appear to your computer like a USB drive, and you'll find both a PDF formatted report and a set of comma separated values.I purchased this because I do some consulting as an acoustician, and I've been asked to provide temperature and humidity data along with sound pressure readings. This little device makes it simple to provide that, particularly backed by the calibration certificate.Quite a bargain for a useful tool. Obviously there are many uses for the end data it provides--mine is only one use case. What else can I say? It works, I was able to use all the functions after getting up to speed in the operation of the device, and it is very reasonably priced. FIVE STARS!!
