I got the 6mm version in N/O PNP output.I tested it using a DC power supply and it works from the 10Volts and up. At 15Vlots, for some reason it pulls more current when the output turns on. Below 15V on my sample the current consumption is lower than my power supply can read. After 15V the supply reads 9mA.The LED on the body is so dim it is not usable. I could barely see the thing when it was detecting metal. At higher voltages it would brighten up but mine was so dim even so that it was useless.The detection range was a couple of mm on steel.I'm intending on using mine to give me direct RPM readings for my lathe spindle.If for some strange reason it fails to perform this simple task I will update this review.As is, it seems to work and will meet with my requirements.,
