These rivet nuts work pretty well, as long as you install them correctly. The zinc finish is nice and even; but I'm not convinced there's any stainless steel under it. They don't look or feel like stainless, and are strongly attracted to magnets. They haven't rusted yet, so time will tell.

They worked great. I typically like to have some assortment of rivet nuts on hand for last minute fixes or projects and would definitely recommend these.

I wanted to add a tabletop to the side of my Blackstone stand but was worried about just drilling screws into the thin metal legs of the table. I picked these up to add a more secure mount for the shelf supports and they worked great. I like being able to tighten down a screw into the rivet nut as opposed to just drilling a screw into the metal and hoping it doesn't pull free or strip out.

These are well made and according to my husband, they serve their purpose. They are very solid and he's happy to have such good quality to keep in his toolbox.

NOT 304 STAINLESS STEEL – COMMON ZINC CHROMATE PLATED STEEL ALLOY – RETURNEDThese Rivet Nuts are made of an ordinary steel alloy that has been electroplated with Zinc Chromate to produce the yellow color. Many reviewers have been tricked because they believed the false advertising. There are many easy ways to tell the difference between a real # 304 Stainless Steel alloy and an ordinary steel alloy. I RETURNED this item.

I've been getting more into rivet nuts for projects around my pool, so I'm largely using stainless steel products. These are for M8 bolts, so they are pretty large, but they seem to do the job well so far. They seem to be well-made and will definitely serve my needs.I did, of course, do a quick magnet check on the rivet nuts and they are definitely non-magnetic. You would be surprised how much stuff actually fails such a basic check.Make sure to get yourself a decent rivet nut tool or these won't be particularly useful.

I ordered these to use in a soft drink machine rail so I could make the cover easier to remove but these only semi-worked for me.I drilled the hole to size but the part that grabs does not seem any bigger than the rest of the rivet so even though I tapped it into place it did not grab like it should have. I ended up using epoxy to glue these into place and then they worked decently. The material is okay but holding it with pliers it completely stripped the outside edge while holding it and trying to remove a bolt that was stuck inside. I figured it would be a little tougher.Overall, if you are using these for lighter work or in wood they will probably work well, but I would not use these in metal again.

This is a M8 Rivet-Nut which is a nut you can install into a "blind" hole (a hole where you cannot access the other side for a conventional nut) and then assemble/secure parts together. Usually this would be for sheet metal, even thin sheet metal.Stainless Steel is a must to prevent rust and dissimilar metal corrosion. To use, you drill a hole the size of the outer area of the Rivet-Nut, insert nut onto setting tool and then into hole. Squeeze the handles evenly so that nut expands squarely locking into the hole. Adjust the tool to get a better grip of the nut and squeeze the handles again until you get enough resistance and the nut is firmly secured to the metal. Then you can either use a stud or bolt threaded into the nut.Very easy to use and holds well.I used a good Nut Setting Tool making the process easy & fast. The inner surface will expand as wide as the outer head of the nut sandwiching the metal inbetween. You have to use a proper tool to expand the nut or everything will probably just slide out of the hole!
