This is great when you have more peripherals than you have ports! It does use the two type C ports built into your MacBook and you only get one on the docking station but you can use an adapter in one of the USB ports. Now I can have my big monitor, download my photos from my cameras SD card, mouse, external speaker and more!

I was able to get the dual monitor along with my wireless keyboard/mouse combo and then some speakers setup. This ended up saving the day and making life a whole lot easier. Not a huge tech geek on these so I just plugged it up and I was good to go.

First of all, it takes both thunderbolt ports and doesn't give you any in return, so you won't be able to use any thunderbolt specific peripherals.Second, the M1 Air doesn't even support 2 additional displays, so you can only use one of the HDMI ports.You can spend less money on a single thunderbolt dongle and have better functionality.

I eagerly awaited this to be delivered. I wanted it to drive both my monitors from my new Mac. It hooked up to the first straight away. But the second monitor came online but never showed the screen, instead reported no HDMI signal. I swapped the cables, the monitors, and tried every combination of port, cable, and monitor. Only one screen at a time ever rended the desktop. Returned it today.

All of the other one star reviews are similar to my experience. Worked for just over 90 days then completely failed, leaving me with a presentation in a short time and having to recover. It works, but caveat emptor - Your fifty bucks could be better spent elsewhere.
