Nothing special about these gloves. I did wear them during a day of moving pavers. They held up well against the rough stone. I would not say that they would protect your hands from impact but they are certainly well suited for yard work. All the gloves digits held up well (no ruptures) but I would probably go with a different glove when handling pavers. I did appreciate that my hands were not soaked with sweat at the end in the hot Alabama sun.

I own several other pairs of Magid gloves for kitchen, shop, and electrical work. These are the lightest of the gloves and the most comfortable for extended wear. They still provide great grip with their textured and rubberized surface as well as a useful degree of cut and puncture resistance, so they've replaced the gloves I used to use when cutting food on a mandoline slicer. On the other hand, I wouldn't use these gloves while operating machine tools because the fabric they're made from seems very strong, and if it got caught in a spinning end mill or drill bit, I think it would not let go until much too late.As for fit, I got these gloves in size 9, following the recommendation on Magid's website to select a size based on palm circumference. They turned out to be a good fit around my palm, but they are too short for my fingers and thumb. If this has been a problem for you, you might wish to go up a size or two.The listing mentions touchscreen compatibility, so a couple of notes about that. First, my iPhone can indeed detect my fingertips while I'm wearing these gloves, but not all the time. Light touches, especially around the edges of my finger, are sometimes missed, and pushing harder doesn't help once that happens; I have to pull my finger completely off the screen and touch it again. And second, my Apple laptop touchpad can't detect my fingers at all while the gloves are on. On the other hand (pardon the pun) these may be the only gloves I own that don't interfere with typing. I typed this whole review while wearing a glove on my left hand.

FITThese gloves fit well with the exception of the finger to palm length ratio. The gloves were a bit snug at the juncture between my fingers and palm. But then there was extra glove above my fingertips--none at my thumb but a steady increase from 1/16 inch extra on my index finger to 1/2 inch extra on my pinky finger. Now, I'm only 5'5" so my finger length is probably average for a female. The fit for these gloves will vary based on your body frame.USEI used these gloves for basic house maintenance repairs. I found them to be better than larger, less dexterious leather work gloves. Working with wood usually caused some angst as just the idea of a splinter gives me the heebie jeebies. Now I can confidently attack these projects without fear of splinters or cuts.PUPPY TERRORISTSI have an 8 week old puppy with teeth like a shark and the bite strength of an alligator who likes to tenderize my fingers. She's only 2 lbs, so her mouth is too small for most of the teething toys that I have for her. So, I tried the gloves. Try as she might, she couldn't puncture them to get to the meat treat she thinks I am.

I usually wear a 9.5 or 10 glove but had to accept a 9 in this model. It worked out all right because like so many gloves its fingers were too long for my stubby ape-like hands. When I pulled the gloves tight wearing these was almost like having no gloves on at all. I easily could pick coins up from a hard surface, work with small items and even type using my standard keyboard. My one reservation was the cut resistant claim because the gloves felt so thin and natural. I didn’t have the nerve to apply the ANSI 4 cut rating test while wearing the gloves so arranged a test.I stretched a glove over a small anvil to the point it didn’t move at the next step which was to press down with (I’d estimate 4 kg or 10 lb.) of weight on a box cutter with a new utility blade inserted. This is a much more severe test than the ANSI rating. The gloves passed the test easily. While the surface of the gloves were cut and the interior had a few pinholes, a hand in the glove would have suffered no harm. Afterward, I felt annoyed at myself for treating such fine and safe gloves so badly. Later I wore the gloves for various work including cutting a Boston Butt roast into cubes for a carne adovada.Comfort beyond expectations combined with safety also beyond expectations creates an easy five-star rating.

The 9/L size fit my hands very comfortably and were very light weight as advertised. They contained a 1/4" of breathing room in the finger tip area. For these gloves to function properly when using touch screens and grabbing small items, the finger tips must be very snug! I found myself pulling the slack from the tips closer to my palm so I could work using the gloves. While the gloves look professional and the color scheme is pleasant to look at, I question their durability as after just a few hand insertions and removals the green A4 decal was unexpectedly peeling off (see photos). After I picked up a wet item, I discovered that the gloves are not water repellant or resistive as the material and my fingers were blah wet. The gloves leave a rubber/latex odor on your hands. Maybe that odor can be removed with baking powder, scented soap, scented oils, scented lotion, or machine washing. Regardless, I'm sure I can find a A4 work glove that doesn't have a smell requiring me to mask it.
