The pair of mittens I received were pretty small for an XL. However, they will keep your hands warm on very cold days and they are relatively easy to work in. The ridges on the back will interfere with getting hands into tighter spaces.

We have a number of Magid gloves, including other T-Rex ones. They have all been excellent for the purposes for which they were selected. All of my husband’s Magid gloves are size large (9) and they all fit quite well, except these. Even my son, who wears a medium found these to be on the small side. The three-finger part is ok, but the index finger and thumb parts are too tight. Since my husband and son are both the long & lean type, it’s not a matter of excess weight.That said, IF these do fit you well, they are well made and thickly insulated.But that’s JustMe. (I received this product in exchange for an honest review, and that is what I have offered here.)

These are hardcore gloves. Yes, you can still pick up big items and generally work while feeling extremely safe and not worrying about the cold. You feel sort of invincible, especially with all the cut protection. No, you cannot work with small items without them driving you nuts.I run super hot, especially when exerting energy, so I think if I'm working hard in the coldest environments, these will get to be too much pretty quickly, but on the other hand, if I'm doing something low energy, but a little dangerous, in the cold, then these cannot be beat. They are for niche purposes, I suppose, but I love to have the proper great for every occassion.

Tough to really test these since it's hardly the middle of winter, but I can say that they feel very well padded and they started to feel quite hot when I tried them on. Not so great for the middle of May, but very promising for the middle of February.The partial glove/mitten design is definitely a bit unusual but it provides pretty good dexterity and warmth, and if you want you can stick your index finger in with the other fingers if it's really frigid.Overall build quality, fit and finish, and comfort are excellent as it has been with all the other Magid gloves I've tried recently. I can't say that these will be something I wear often, but I'll be glad to have them when the weather demands it.

I like the one free finger in these gloves. Makes them actually useable. They are very warm and the top has some protection. They are not waterproof. The underside is cotton. I will probably end up spraying some Teflon on to help with touching wet or damp things. They are very warm, easy to put in and you can actually grab and manipulate things in them.

Putting these on makes me think of some type of hybrid armor. The sizing is accurate, but feel tight on the thumb and forefinger. Also, you can't fully articulate - I can only bend the first knuckle in each digit. The combination of thickness, protection on the back of the glove and the extra protection on the "webbing" between the thumb and forefinger make these stiff and thick. I could *just* hold a hammer. Using a snow-blower was no problem. A shovel took some practice. Picture not being able to bend your fingers.There's a nice wide adjustment strap on the wrists to snug these over a jacket cuff. They're great gloves when you can sacrifice some dexterity for a ton of protection and warmth.

Unfortunately (at least in terms of my ability to test the warmth of these), I've received them just as weather where I live starts to get oppressively hot (after the coldest winter I've ever experienced here). So I won't be ale to truly judge just how warm these are until next year. Nevertheless...I'm pretty sure they're going to be the warmest hand protection I've ever used.I've worked in some cold, if not extreme, weather. My experience has been that pretty much nothing can truly keep your hands or feet warm if you aren't moving around very much. These gloves--which are sort of hybrid glove/mittens, seem to stand a good chance of proving me wrong. They're super thick, offer excellent protection, and while they have separate forefinger and thumb compartments, the remaining three fingers are in a larger compartment together, like a mitten. For maximum warmth, you can also fit your forefinger in that area if you don't need it for dexterity. There's a velcro closure at the forearm (above the wrist to seal out the cold.I like the design, the d and hand protection, and look forward to trying these out in the cold.
