Very good quality nothing to write home about as all of the magnets of this type are the same simple design. It works well however and is square. Still made in the USA.I verified that's 8 by 8 inches. Bigger than big Harbor Freight red ones which are only 6.25".The 160 lbs rating is on thick metal. On sheet metal it's strong enough to do the job, but won't impress you. That's the way all magnets work in that the thinner the metal the less power.The release lever just pushes the magnet off the surface. It's handy, but is easily removed (one bolt) if you don't like it.Every fabricator needs at least 4 of these so it can get expensive.
