Nearly a direct swap from factory for GMT800 suburban, tahoe, silverado, sierra, yukonThis muffler has the same configuration as the factory centered single in and dual out. Had to use a short stick of 3" pipe for inlet since this muffler is a few inches shorter than the huge factory muffler. Had to use 2 reducers (if using clamps) or cut and slits in your factory tail pipe to expand it a little so it will slip over the dual 2.5 ID out of the muffler. If using this method you will need it to be welded as the gaps are to large for clamps. Factory muffler is 24" body, Magnaflow 20" body. I kept the original tailpipe that is dual in back to single exit.Factory pipe measured 2.7" OD for center inlet. 3" OD for dual tailpipe exit.Muffler is 3" ID center inlet. 2.5" ID dual exit.Muffler sounds great with nearly no drone but there is some in the cab at certain rpm around 2.8k - 3.5k. Highway rpm 2k - 2.5k nice and quiet, you can hear the exhaust more but no drone during cruise.I may add a resonator after a year if the muffler gets much louder which is supposed to happened as it breaks in after 500 - 1000 miles.

Put on a 2003 suburban with 5.3 mild tune and cat delete. Sounds great around town and speeds below 50 mph. 70 - 80 mph on the highway and your going to hate this muffler. Had this muffler on for 1 week. Short trips aren't too bad but, the drone on a long trip will give you an insane headache. 2200 -2400 rpm seems to be the sweet spot for the resonating drone that after 45 minutes makes you nauseated. Turning up the radio doesn't help, tried it. Just ordered the Walker replacement hoping it will be closer to the stock sound. This muffler is a high quality product best suited for a weekend hotrod, not the long distance family hauler.

Installed this muffler on my 2007 Tundra. It required some small modifications to the inlet piping to fit. Sounds great but does drone around 1700 RPM with the stock tail pipe. Can be fixed with a resonator or shortening the tail pipe about 24". The muffler is a quality piece as expected from Magnaflow.

If you are looking for a muffler that is a little louder than stock, but doesn't have terrible drone, then this is the muffler to buy. I had this installed on my 2011 Nissan Xterra 4.0 v6. I had the muffler shop get rid of the ghastly stock y-pipe and fabricate 2 new 2.25 connecting pipes to the dual 2.25 inlets on the magnaflow (the muffler is bi-directional). This has definitely improved acceleration. It sounds amazing on cold start, but then quiets down to a low rumble after warm-up. On the road, it is almost stock quiet when lightly accelerating. With moderate and aggressive acceleration, it really comes to life! On the highway, it is barely audible at 65 to 75 mph. In comparison, I had a Flowmaster super 44 and that muffler was garbage. The drone was unbearable at all speeds. The exterior sound was awesome, but the drone made me loathe driving my SUV. This magnaflow muffler was definitely worth the buy!

Awesome product..Gave my 2007 Nissan Xterra an amazing sound just enough Rumble and some good back pressure for some good acceleration much better than stock but again not as quiet.

When I first installed it I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't louder. Now that I've had it for a couple years it's actually a nice subtle rumble and doesn't attract too much attention and I'm happy with it.

I did a lot of research before purchasing this 22" muffler. I wanted a muffler louder than stock, but not a muffler that wore on me on long travel. I installed this as part of a catback system. The sound is deep. It is about 3-4 dB louder than stock, although YMMV. There was a drone for me at about 1100 - 1300 RPM when in 6th gear (about 45 mph). I corrected that by installing a Chemical Guys tailpipe resonator. Although that took away about 2 dB, I am fine with that, as I have zero drone in any range, still have power and a great sound. Overall, I am pleased with overall system with the 22" muffler. I would have rated it 5 stars if there wasn't a drone that I had to fix.

I am very pleased with this MagnaFlow muffler on my 2016 3.5-liter V6 3rd gen Triple T/Case Toyota Tacoma Rock Crawler.I wanted something that would outflow the stock system but would not be too loud as I drive long distances to-and-from trails as well as daily drive my Tacoma. For example, I live in Central California, and have taken my Tacoma through the Rubicon (NorCal) twice, the Hammers (SoCal) once, Moab (Utah) three times, trails in Colorado once, and trails in Texas twice. Just in the past month I've driven the Tacoma 5,600 miles to trails in both Texas and Utah on two different trips. The factory Toyota 3.5-liter exhaust consisted of 45mm (1.77") inner diameter (ID) pipes between the cats and Y-pipe upstream from the muffler, and after the Y-pipe is 57mm (2.24") ID pipes both in and out of the stock muffler. *Note: Even though the driver side cross-over pipe measures almost 2.5" OD, it is a double pipe: There is a smaller 45mm/1.77" pipe within it!!Many people on forums seem hell-bent on running 3" exhaust (76mm!! which is 5.7-times more flow before the muffler holy crap!!), but, if you consider how small the stock exhaust is, this 12580 Magnaflow muffler positioned "backwards" in dual 2.25-inch inlets and single 2.5-inch outlet is a great upgrade: 123% or 3.2-times better flow between cat and muffler, and 25% or 1.25-times better flow out the muffler. Then, combined with the fact the muffler itself is free-flowing, even this "small" 12580 Magnaflow is a huge increase in airflow over stock. One other thing to note is that the diagram on Magnaflow's product website of the internal Y-Pipe is INCORRECT. It shows the Y-Pipe positioned directly at the two outlets/inlets, however, this 12580 muffler actually has the Y-Pipe positioned directly at the single outlet/inlet. So in reality there are two long internal pipes that cover the majority of the distance of the muffler that are collected right before the single outlet/inlet. To me this is significant because if you look at the product photo on Magnaflow's website, I was expecting there to be more sound deadening material due to only have 1 pipe traveling through the bulk of the muffler, but instead there is less space for sound deadening due to the fact that there are two pipes traveling through the bulk of the muffler. Magnaflow: Please update your cut-away diagram! The sound at 70 MPH highway cruise is only slightly louder than stock which I am very pleased with. It has a nice slight rumble off idle and above 4K RPM, and often has that awesome popping sound during long in-gear deceleration (my truck is a 6MT). It also has a nice mellow rumble to it during the high idle moments of a cold-start. For Rock Crawling where you are idling without using hardly any throttle for most of the trail (this only applies to rigs with a Marlin Crawler installed), it sounds great because of the nice low speed rumble it has right off idle. I cannot praise this muffler enough for a combination of daily driving and long trail Rock Crawling while not having your ears droned out for hours and hours, yet it outflows the stock exhaust picking up some MPG and acceleration along the way.Gas mileage has gone up however it's difficult to say how much of the improvement was from either the muffler or my 40" tires. I am currently averaging just over 17 MPG with 40" tires, 5.29:1 R&P, and Triple Marlin Crawler Transfer Cases.Acceleration has certainly improved, especially in the top end.I now have over 7,000 miles on the Magnaflow 12580 muffler and it's been great. Sound has not changed and I am very pleased with the increased performance without any of the droning or harshness associated with freeflow mufflers.A few people here at work thought the muffler was too large but I think it's the perfect size: It is just as wide and long as my stock TRD Sport Toyota muffler, however, it is half as high so I've gained much needed ground clearance. If you have any questions regarding installation or my 580:1 Crawl Ratio Tacoma, then please post up and I'll do my best to respond.Thank you Magnaflow!!

Gives the Xterra a great sound. Well worth the purchase. I had a muffler shop remove the stock restrictive Y pipe and run separate pipes into the two muffler inlets. Coupled with a K&N filter and my own DIY'd cold air intake it really seems to have improved the mid to upper range power.
