Stir Bar Tips

  • Proper speed is critical. Slowly increase your stir plate speed to find the stir bar's optimal performance. Turning the speed control up too fast can 'throw' the stir bar or might not spin it at all.
  • Depending on your stir plate's magnet strength and the container you use, it may take a few tries to find the perfect working position.
  • Check your stir plate specifications on optimal stir bar size. You may need to change sizes if you can't get the desired performance.
  • Stir bar magnets are delicate. Dropping one could degrade the magnet's strength or the resiliency of the soft PTFE plastic.

Increased amount of yeast I was activating strain. Magnet was too small decided to replace. Could not find it locally or at brewing supply store that is 50 miles away. Looked at Amazon. Found exactly what replacement I needed. Had it in stock delivered on time safe time money extremely happy.

Thought it’s larger size is very convenient for slowly mixing larger items. This particular one is not compatible with most small to medium hot plates even though I have others from different manufactures that are the same size or larger that seemed to work fine.

Atleast on my magnetic stirrer, this bar simply refuses to spins. It jumps and jitters unless in a perfect container with rounded wedges which guide it back to the middle. However it has been of use to me to break up emulsions due to the vibrations it causes

Hi when I openned the box, I did not find the magnetic stir bar. There is the other items not the magnetic stir bar.
