I recently picked up a basic single laser distance meter for the first time and was impressed with everything it was capable of. So when I saw this Magpie Saber X dual laser distance meter, I was curious to see what advantages a dual laser feature would have. Not only does this model has all the obvious benefits of a dual laser such as much more convenient measuring but it also includes several extra features that I find really useful that aren't found in cheaper laser distance meters.This is little bigger than my single laser distance meter, but it's still compact enough to easily fit in a pocket. The package also includes a nice looking heavy-duty pouch with a strap hook and a belt clip for convenience and portability. The display is large, easy to read, and I love how I can adjust the orientation of the display for better readability. Even after being powered off, it remembers all settings, including display orientation, measuring points and directions, and even the beeping sound setting.One unique extra feature I particularly find useful in so many situations is the angle measurement. It provides real time digital readouts of the angle, and I find this so much more useful than the bubble levels that most laser distance meters come with. I did have to go through a quick calibration process initially to get it to work properly. Simply find a perfectly level surface to place the unit on. Then enter the settings menu to follow 6 orientation steps to complete the calibration in just a few seconds.Another feature I find to be really useful is continuous measuring mode for both single and dual laser mode. Continuous measuring mode for single laser mode not only shows the distance being measured but also updates and shows both the minimum and maximum measurements. This helps me find the correct measurements when I’m not sure about the shooting angle of the laser. In continuous measuring mode with dual laser, the center point can be located by moving to a spot where both the left and right measurements come out the same.The Magpie Saber X comes with all the obvious benefits of a dual laser system and adds several extra features I find really useful that aren’t typically found in cheaper models. I find extra features like adjustable display orientation, a digital angle finder, and min/max distance tracking in continuous measuring mode very useful in so many situations. For anyone wondering if this dual laser system is worth the upgrade over the basic single one, I'd say it definitely is worth it not just for the dual laser but for all the extra features this comes with.

The Magpie Saber X is hands down one of the best laser distance meters I’ve used. It’s super accurate (±2mm precision) and makes measuring so much easier since it gives you left, right, and total distances all at once—no more awkwardly shuffling around walls or crawling on the floor to get the right angle. The dual lasers are really bright, so even in tricky lighting, I can see my measurements clearly. Plus, it’s built like a tank with a shock-resistant, rubberized grip and IP54 water and dust protection, so I don’t have to baby it on the job site.The battery life is insanely good—one hour of charging gets me up to 8,000 measurements, which means I can go ages without worrying about it dying. The backlit screen is easy to read, and switching between meters, inches, and feet is super convenient. It’s got all the extra measurement modes you’d want, like area, volume, and Pythagorean functions, but even the basic distance measuring is fast and reliable. If you need a solid, no-nonsense laser measuring tool that just works, this is definitely worth it.

The key travel is very clear, and the backlit screen is large and beautiful. The measurement is very accurate. It is a very convenient and good machine. The rangefinder is lightweight and easy to carry. When using it, just turn on the device, aim at the target object, and press the measurement button to quickly obtain the distance data. Its operation is simple and intuitive, without complicated settings or adjustments.

The bright and clear display remains easy to read, even in sunlight, which is a big plus.The Magpie Saber X is loaded with features, including area and volume calculations, which I’m just starting to explore. I've double checked many of the measurements with my Leica EDM and they've all be spot on... less that 0.01ft.Overall, the Magpie Saber X is a fantastic tool for anyone seeking accurate and efficient measurements.
