These are better than the round ones that I am replacing. Well constructed. They sit flat against the side of the boat, and has many different positions to mount them.

As a Vine reviewer, I received one of these boat bumpers to try out and review. I liked it so much, I ordered another and now I have the perfect pair of boat bumpers that match my pontoon boat colors and look great. Although I just got them, they look durable and I’m sure we’ll get many years of use out of them.I ended up not using the plastic “rope latch” that was included with the bumper. The rope itself was perfect but I chose to use a different “rope latch” that gripped the rope better. I was afraid the one provided with the bumper would come loose and the bumper would disappear.

These fenders are definitely a better form than the old style fenders seen in my pics. They lay flatter against the side of the boat. It would be nice if the were a bit longer than 16 inches to accommodate for all docks and water levels. This fender does come with the black plastic ball which the lines pass through and it is a spring type gripper retainer/keeper for the line ends. However, anything mechanical like these keepers will eventually fail. I would recommend using an old fashioned knot to secure the fender at the farthest length the ropes allow and use the fender retainer/keeper to position the fender for the best height based on the dock and water level. Durability is unknown at this time.
