I debated for a couple of weeks about trying to install these myself, but convinced myself that I needed a more experienced technician for the job. I'm not very knowledgeable about pool repairs so I got an estimate for replacing the flow knobs. WOWWWW I decided after getting the estimate that I would give it a try and save myself a few hundred dollars for parts and labor. The first one was a bit tricky as I was trying to remember what I saw on YouTube and before I knew it, I had installed all six in less than thirty minutes. Fifteenth minutes for the first one and the other five in less than about two minutes apiece. This was a thousand percent easier than I could have imagined and saved myself a bundle of money. If you can screw a top on a jar, you can replicate what I did as a novice pool repairman, yeah, it's actually that easy. If you can't screw these into your pool, let me know, I don't charge more $800 for ten minutes of labor, but parts are extra and very, very expensive and hard to get :) Go for it and you can strut around your pool deck next Summer telling your friends how experienced you are with pool repairs. Next Summer, I'm going to teach my four year old granddaughter how to do these, that way she'll have enough money for college and won't be pestering me for books and tuition. WaaaHaaaaaa.

The picture of the items show the two slots in the seat to be used with a tool to install them but the items come without the slots. I bought these specifically because they were supposed to have the slot in them to be installed with the tool.
