The bit depth cannot be adjusted. If you want a compact router with an offset accessory, Makita is not for you. Check out Milwaukee and Bosch for compact routers with their offset accessories.

This accessory does not come with its own collet. The collet from the original Makita router must be used. However, there is not enough room for the nut of the original collet. It bottoms out before it tightens the inner clamp secure. Therefore this device cannot securely hold a small 1/4 inch solid carbide laminate bit. The router bit moves up and down within the collet and is therefore pretty much useless.

“NoT foR tHe ProFFesSIoNaL” they say lol. A professional would know that the belt driven design makes a bit height adjustment feature nearly impossible without doubling, maybe tripling the price. Do you really think Makita forgot about it? No. It isn’t feasible. This is a game changer for me. I mounted it on a small piece of 3/4 BB and use it to trim pocket hole plugs flush. Saves ALOT of time

An Allen wrench adjusts the height.

If you’re buying this to do a reface, don’t bother. Try to find one of those old porter cable offset routers. This thing is a waste of money. There’s no depth adjustment which makes it practically useless.

I own many routers including Makita which I usually love however are you really that stupid of engineers not to put a bit height adjustment on this thing makes it totally useless
