Name brand sanding belts are more expensive and tolerate heat much better than the off-brand belts.

These belts were perfectly made for the Makita belt sander that I purchased. They last a long time as I use them to remove glue from a kitchen floor that I had the original linoleum surface. I did the entire kitchen floor and laundry room, which are all in one area. All sanding was completed and I still have four belts left. I would encourage others to purchase these.

These are GREAT! I have leaned on these HARD, and had them so hot I had to stop because i could smell the rubber from the sander's drive drum burning. I've purchased some of the other brands(or should I say no-brands on Amazon) and they can not handle the heat and come apart at the seams, these belts withstood the punishment I was giving them

i did some research on these after i received them.my Makita 9403 came with a single 80grit belt clearly branded with the Makita trademark on the backside. i also ordered the 10-pack of Makita 40grit right here, and they are all branded as Sankyo Fuji Star (Japan). although i have no complaints about the belt quality so far (i've used two of them to level a large area of fiberglass very easily ...almost too easily), it should be noted that these are Sankyo belts inside a Makita box. one reviewer is stating that Makita does not make belts. this is obviously not the case, although they may be outsourcing some of their belts. if you go to Makita's website and look at the images of their belts, some have Makita stamped on them and some have Sankyo markings. so still OEM quality, but four stars instead of five for not identifying this in the product description.i saw another reviewer on Amazon indicating the same find, but also insisting the Sankyo belts are manufactured in China (and thus greatly inferior). though there is a Daiichi Sankyo pharmaceutical company in China, i was unable to find anything to indicate Japan is not the country of origin of Sankyo Fuji Star abrasives.

These sanding belts are outstanding. They don't load up/clog, they last, and last and last. A whole room fool of hardwood floor, the first belt was still good! I'm very impressed with Makita on these. Top job.

I can say with 100% certainty that this is one of the best belt sandpapers out there. Like an idiot I decided to sand my entire deck (400 sq feet) with a 1' belt sander. It took weeks and I went through almost 50 sheets of sandpaper.I tried craftsman, gator, and a few others and each one had a problem that when the sander got too hot (which takes 5 min) the sandpaper unglued and came right off. I then had to wait for about an hour for the sander to cool before putting more sandpaper on...otherwise it was still too hot and I'd be lucky to get 1 minute before the next piece unglued itself too.Only this Makita withstood the heat that my sanding produced so I could get the most out of it before changing. NOT ONCE did any come unglued. The only downside is that this sandpaper is unidirectional, but since it lasts so long, that didn't matter to me. I would have bought more...except they lasted too long.
