The Makita PO5000C, 5", polisher I received was supplied by Graces, Inc. out of Yokohama, Japan. The Makita nameplate on the tool clearly says 100V for power supply (standard Japanese power supply). I spoke with Makita USA and they advised to not use this product with standard US power supply of 120VAC, 60Hz. Furthermore they advised Makita USA does not warrantee the tool which was maufactured in Japan. I have returned the polisher to Amazon for refund.

Forced Rotation mode is an absolutely powerful beast of a tool. DA mode is pretty useless as it is not powerful at all. There are some internet review videos that suggest that a washer be used add space to the backing plate to get the DA mode to spin more, however I have not seen any restriction in mine that would cause me to pursue this remedy. In DA mode it barely has any power and does not do much oscillations, even on high RPM. Its not a deal breaker for me as I didn't buy it for DA mode, but mostly for the forced rotation feature

You can get a cheaper option and do the same job. I’m just a makita guy. If I had to do it again I would buy the chemical guys polisher.

Love the forced action there’s so much power, it’s different too hang onto at first due to the forced rotation vs other random orbital.I’m using it for buffing boats and it’s quickly become one of my “go too” buffers

I run a car and boat detailing business and I bought this machine to use mainly on boats because it has the forced rotation mode it makes sanding and wet sanding easier on gelcoat because you don’t have to worry about the machine stalling and you not sanding properly. I have used it on both cars and boats and I really love it the build quality is great the ergonomics of the machine are good too and the weight isn’t bad either. My only complaints about the machine is the diagram lists the opm and not the rpm and the manual doesn’t tell you the rpm based on speed setting. And my other complaint is that the none forced rotation mode is pretty useless unless you run high speeds it just stalls out and the only other complaint I have is the backing plates are kinda expensive. I got a 6in Makita one since they have there own interface and not a universal one and it was around $100 for that backing plate. Outside of that I’m very happy with this purchase

i bought this buffer to remove halo marks left on a 2018 black Audi A6. The dealership gave a "complementary wash" a.k.a. sandpaper rubdown. This forced rotation DA buffer worked amazing on the extremely hard, and easily scratched Audi clearcoat.
