Your cart is empty.Makita® 18V LXT® Brushless Drywall Sander Kit (XLS01TK) delivers increased efficiency and mobility for drywall finishers. The compact and lightweight design make the XLS01 easier to use for extended periods of time. The XLS01 delivers up to 35 minutes of run time on a single charge of an 18V 5.0Ah battery. Users can match the speed to the application with a variable speed control dial (1,000 - 1,800 RPM), and Constant Speed Control automatically provides additional power to the motor to maintain speed under load for consistent performance.
The large highly flexible head is engineered for efficiency with increased maneuverability across various wall orientations. The Brushless Motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life. The adjustable extension pipe collapses for sanding in confined spaces, such as closets, and extends up to 16-1/2” for reaching high walls and ceilings. The dust brush is removable for seamless flush-to-corner edge sanding.
For improved efficiency, it’s equipped with Auto-Start Wireless System technology (AWS®). AWS utilizes Bluetooth® technology for wireless communication between the tool and dust extractor (sold separately). When the trigger of the AWS-equipped XLS01 is engaged, the AWS-equipped dust extractor powers up. When the trigger is released, the dust extractor powers down. AWS is intelligent communication that eliminates cords and excessive noise since the dust extractor runs only when the tool is running.

I'm DIYing a lot of sheetrock (a whole house worth) and so figured it would be a good investment. It was! It's rare for me to have a tool exceed my expectations but this one does. It finishes sheet rock quickly and relatively easily (it does get heavy to hold against a ceiling after awhile..., but that's better than hand-sanding on a ceiling!). It has enabled me, an amateur, to get a class 5 finish on drywall...that means NO texture, totally flat...like glass. I love it!

I needed to buy a dust fitting collection to fit the odd ball sized dust port. I vacuum to a shop vac with a HEPA bag. The reduction in air borne dust is amazing.The unit is not exceptionally heavy. I can easily sand overhead and top of tape on a 8’-8’6” wall. More than that you may need to be tall (I’m 5’10”) or one a low scaffold. I found Sherwin Williams had comparable 9” disks with more grit from Fein. The battery lasts for about 2 hrs of constant sanding or 1/2 day if your spotting and prepping.I am a light commercial user. I also use the makita for their professional landscape tools, so the double bay charger and access 6 more batteries keeps me going.
