Metal Gear Dimensions: Small teeth count= 85 and that diameter is 2 1/4”. Larger teeth count= 25 and that diameter is 1 1/8”. Height of gear when laying flat on a table is 15/16”
Easy to install. You can replace the gear even if you do not have a mechanical back ground and can easily upgrade the metal gear with common tools. Its very easy to do and even the most non mechanically inclined person can figure this out.

Once the motor and gear box was removed it was a very easy drop in replacement. As I noted in the headline, even appropriately greased up, it is a bit louder but so briefly operated it's tolerable.

After I installed the gear, the slide motor was binding up and would not move the slide out or in. I removes the gear and cleaned the grease off and decided to check it against my old gear, the gear has a raised boss on the top side so you can see it was about 1/16" taller than the old one so I decided to grind the boss off flush with the top. Re-installed it and it works just fine. Little noisier than the plastic one but you only usually put it out once then back in when you pack up.
