Unless you’re Spiderman, you really need this if you’re doing any work up high - working on the roof, in a bucket, off a tower, whatever. I’ve never understood why people opt out of this. One fall is all it takes. I know of a couple who have paid for it (and still are) for the rest of their lives. This harness is a pretty good one for the price. Its easy to use and quick action to get out. Seems like quality all around. Good stitching, strong material. Please don’t get on another roof, etc. without this.

I needed some roof work done and my nephew agreed to do it, however he didn't have the proper safety equipment and I wasn't going to let him climb around on my roof without something. I know that it's pretty common for roof repair people not to use safeties, but I wasn't willing to allow him to do that. As such, I picked up this harness for him which we tied off to a suitable anchor so that in the event that he fell he wouldn't fall all the way to the ground. Luckily, he didn't fall, and we'll have suitable safety equipment for him in the future. It's very easy to get into this thing, and it fits a variety of sizes within the range that you purchase. He stated that it wasn't exactly comfortable, but, comfort really isn't the point when you're trying to maintain safety on a high roof. However it's a great value for the money, some of these safety harnesses are extremely expensive. So at this price point the quality of the performance are well over par. The only thing that I would mention is that you need to make sure that you have a suitable carabiner and a suitable anchor, and an appropriate rope. Or a fall arrest device. Without those, this harness loses much of its usefulness.

Fits great for someone 5’1” about 166lbs. Wish there were excess strap holders especially around the legs. I have to find a solution for that before wearing it on the job site.

So... I got the 3X version, and... they might need some help with their sizing.I mean, it is huge on me... I took it to a guy who is quite a bit bigger than me, like 300lbs... and fit it to him, and we honestly had to tighten it down almost as far as we could to get a good fit.It is just really big.But... the design with no waist belt is actually really good for large people, it makes it a lot easier to fit up, and just to put on.So, good harness, but it runs very big apparently.

I've worked several jobs which required fall protection, at heights up to 120 feet, so I'm familiar with harnesses such as this. About 10 years I was working at a height of 32 feet, walking a beam on a construction site while wearing a harness. I was tethered with a retractable lanyard to a rolling trolley on an overhead safety cable which followed the contour of the beam I was walking. As I turned a corner of the beam, the overhead trolley got hung up and stopped moving forward. When I kept moving forward, the retractable lanyard pulled me back off my feet and I fell off the beam. Thanks to the fall protection harness I was wearing, I only had a few bruises plus a small stain in my pants. I gained a whole new appreciation for the value of good fall protection hardware. That's why I always use a good fall protection harness, such as this Malta Dynamics Javelina harness, when I'm working at any height. I like how easy it is to put on and take off, and I can reach the attachment shackle in the back to attach/detach my safety lanyard. I also like the good quality construction and high strength of the material and connectors. This is a good product, I like it and I expect you will too.

I’m a tough reviewer for safety equipment since lives literally hang in the balance and it just isn’t the place to cut corners. I don’t have anything bad to say about this harness though, and feel like even the toughest OSHA inspector would sign off on this as being as safe as any of this class harness.First, it comes with actual certifying documentation. I’ve been shocked to get other critical safety gear claiming it meets all the various mandated cert standards yet they don’t include any documentation saying that, which is a big red flag. This has the documents to back up the claim.Next, it’s well made. Good solid low stretch webbing, excellent stitching all around with no run offs, missed edges, or loose stitching anywhere. The hardware is attached solidly and is made of equally qualitymaterials.Perhaps most importantly, the sizing is accurate, and it’s sized for us chunky Americans. You don’t order a 3x and end up with a medium with this harness. In fact, with the adjustability I’d say it actually would fit anywhere from a 2x up to a 5x. Legit 5x too. If you’re a big guy or gal you don’t have to worry about the sizing being inaccurate, which is rare nowadays. So overall this is a solid piece of gear you can feel good strapping on and trusting, and it rs a good value too compared to a lot of similar gear out there. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone, even people I care about, not just strangers on the internet!
