I thought this was going to be great (better design than BMW original one) and it was but last just under one year. About 10 months in, it became really difficult to press hard enough to make it work to open and eventually neither my wife or I could get the hatch open with it and used the key fob or the switch in the interior of the car. Looking at the old part the actual switch inside is fine but the plastic that is supposed to push it isn't as stiff as it was new and doesn't depress the switch no matter how hard you press the handle area.Ended up buying the same one and reinstalled. Hopefully this on last longer than one year. Cost isn't high but hassle (~hour) installing it.

Used this one to replace the original latch on a 2011 BMW X3 xDrive28. It has a slightly different design than the original, but is working fine. Took me about 10 minutes to remove old one and install this one.

Feels different with the hard plastic grip surface as apposed to the soft rubber on the original one, but it was that soft rubber that ripped and failed on the original one. A fraction of the cost of the upgraded OEM replacement makes it a great value. By the time this one fails, I probably won't have the car anymore.

This item fit perfectly. It’s not an exact BMW part or OEM but works. Only difference is it doesn’t have the same feel on your hand when opening the truck. Not a big deal to me but thought I’d mention it. You may need to remove your license plate bracket to make it easier also and the electrical connector can be tricky to unplug from your old one so take your time. Simple to do your self and I am guessing BMW would charge big $$$$ to replace it like they do on everything else.

It fitted great and the click was strong for the first month and then it just stopped, I removed it too see why the problem was and the plastic is not strong enough, so when you pull/press on it to open the plastic inside the truck bends not allowing enough pressure onto the click mechanism. So pointless buying this product.
