Repaired our 1984 Chiefton. Took some effort to get the propane to refill the first time but after that it's been good.

Purchased a used Manchester lp tank with part of this assembly missing.Considered using an aftermarket fitting to "make it work". Gladly decided to just purchase this whole assembly. Worth extra $ for safety and piece of mind.

I saw a post where someone wrote about putting it in the RV and worked. My motorhome has the large propane tank inside the basement with this valve location needing to be extended with tubing to a fitting near the side of the RV to be filled. This will only work if you tank is side mounted and this fitting location is directly accessible. After more looking, I found nearly the exact same model for $20 elsewhere

Item was shipping in a plastic bubble bag and arrived with the float bent 90 degrees. The float is attached to the device with a thin brass rod, this needs to be shipped in a well-packed hard cardboard box in the future, this is a very delicate item. It will not only not go in the tank bent (it is supposed to be perfectly straight), but it will not be calibrated to stop at the 80% fill level for safety reasons. If you try to straighten the brass rod, it will either snap the plastic float off or the rod will break. Either way, it is unusable and will have to go in the trash and I have to order another one from somewhere other than Amazon.

A life savor. My old filler would leak propane so I couldn't fill tank. Installed in 15 minutes and went to propane dealer. Filled tank line a dream.

When working with something as volitile as propane, I never cut corners. This fill valve was recommended by my propane dealer so I ordered it.Being a retired professional mechanic etc., I inspected it carefully upon receipt. The packaging was barely adequate but was undamaged. In comparison to the original fill valve the new unit appeared identical in materials and construction. The accompanying instructions were fool proof (lucky for me) and installation was simple. Two cautionary notes: (1) make certain there is sufficient thread sealant tape on the valve mounting threads. (2) before removing the original fill valve be careful to note how many revolutions are needed to unscrew it from the tank, then, insert the new valve with approximately the same number of revolutions AND stopping with the stamped alignment mark vertical!! READ the instructions and find that alignment mark! If not installed correctly, the tank will not fill correctly. The valve does exactly what it was engineered to do.

This was to replace a fitting on our motorhome, and it appears to be a nice fit with no issues. My husband has tested for leaks and it seems efficient, but we have yet to use it to check durability. That said, it seems reliable and it was shipped quickly.
