So I bought this and it works but the hand protector doesn't grip as well as I would like.So of course I cheated cutting long cucumbers with out it,and cut my hand.After heating up the soup spoon and cauterizing the wound, I did it again.Sailing with Captain Morgan beforehand was not a genius move.The nurse called me a savage gave me antibiotics and told me to throw the damn thing out.The captain and I decided she was right.Use this device responsibly.

This is a nice kitchen tool to have!I’ve wanted one for so long!This was a great price, and the quality is very good!I was thrilled to see that it came with a pair of protective gloves, However, I was so excited to get going, and had seen these many years tons of times on TV. I went right to it and not one minute into it, sliced off the tip of my finger.!My finger throbbed, and was painful to the touch for nearly 7 weeks!I must admit, I have been afraid to use it since then.I’m making a chicken salad tonight,WISH ME LUCK!I highly recommend this product and using the protective gloves!

Great and sharp but it is almost impossible to completely slice vegetables as the handle slips and do not properly secures the vegetables in place for cutting. There is always 1 or 2 left that can’t be sliced. I am planning to return it as it is also dangerous and I should not be having to wear gloves to use it.

We brought this mandoline to slice zuchinni. Works well. It took us some time to figure out the knob. Really sharp. Made excellent slices fried zuchinni. I am 78 and wasn;t able to slice the zuchinni thin enough to make the zuchinni slices. Very happy with it. be sure to watch the video

This kitchen tool is fantastic. It is sharp, sleek and easy to use. It is easy to clean, so far as well. The slice options are all that I currently need. Only cut I'd add would be a crinkle cutter. It is sturdy and doesn't feel like I'm going to break it. I can fit it in the drawer easily. It saves me time. I'm thoroughly pleased and so glad I found this one before I wasted money on something else.

1st of all, great product. I've never seen a better looking sliced cucumber. Lovely slices, and easy to adjust thickness. But beware, blade is like a freshly sharpened medieval guillotine. I feel like there's not enough emphasis on the actual hazard of this device. (All mandolin slicers) I saw no yellow caution tape across the package, no waiver to sign lol. Yes, I read the reviews. I knew it was wicked sharp. I did a few test slices on a cucumber...not enough to require the use of the safety gloves and veggie holder. I was "careful." Not even halfway through the cucumber, I whacked my fingertip. Sliced right through my fingernail. Y'all, I feel the only thing that stopped it from cutting it clean off, was my BONE! Please learn from my stupidity. It comes with safety gear for a reason!

Mandolins freak me out as I have seen some terrible injuries in the past. I chose this one because of the gloves and the safety thing with the spikes to hold foods and keep my hands far from the blade. For cleaning, there is not a bunch of nooks for food to get stuck in. I cleaned it immediately after use so I could spray it down and let it air dry since I will not put my fingers near the blade.I make pickled vegetables and the hardest part of that is julienne the vegetables. The ability to change the way this cuts is perfect for me. I can make French fries from any solid vegetable, cut cabbage for kraut, small julienne vegetables for pickling, nice thick or thin slices of squash or potatoes for side dishes; salads, ratatouille, scalloped potatoes, the list goes on and on.Because of its movable blade and sturdy stand up arm I have been using this more than I thought I would, I have used it 4 times this week alone. It is not one of those kitchen gadgets that will collect dust, it's versatility ensures its constant use!!

It's designed poorly and is dangerous to use. I used it twice and cut myself twice. I really like the adjustable slicer and the julienne feature. It also has no collection container which makes it messy. I bought a different one that I like SO much better. The gloves are a nice touch. I will keep it and continue to use it for certain features.
