This is one of the best slicers for people that have difficulty using a knife. This just makes it so easy to be able to do food prep for the week. It also was wonderful when just preparing a regular salad I can put several ingredients in it once where are the best things I have bought this year

Much safer than a standard mandoline, which is just a cutting board with a sharp knife. With this device, the blade is safely contained and your fingers never make contact with it. Rather than your fingers sliding up and down over the blade, the blade slides up and down inside the board. There is a sleeve and plunger attached to the board where the food goes, so the food doesn't move up and down, either. There's a dial on the back to control how thin or thick the slices are.Sliced food falls into a small plastic hopper big enough for half a cucumber. Cleanup with warm soapy water is easy. The device comes with a small cleaning tool that has a brush on one end and theres a protective cover that snaps over the blade opening.I love cucumber salad and this is perfect for slicing cukes and onions. Don't recommend it for slicing meat because the grease will be hard to clean off the blade, since it's never exposed.

Great item. Slices like butter. 8 different slices from thin to thick. Been looking for a machine like this that won’t cut my fingers off. You want a great slicer this is the one for you. Highly recommend. Easy clean

As an experienced home cook, a mandolin is a dicey tool to use. I mean one slip and you've got finger food. Witnessing my future daughter-in-law using a less than perfect mandolin is difficult to not intervene. So basically I got this one for her to use and I had high hopes. But what this mandolin can do is limited. That it to say, if what you're cutting is round and hard, e.g., potatoes this is the tool. But tomatoes or lengthwise carrots--not so much. I haven't found it diversified as the dangerous ones. It's stable, safe and easy to use, once you figure it all out, but it's kind of specific.

Purchased this because of the safety precautions on this mandolin but found the "holder" portion to be very limiting in the items I'm cutting. Works fine for smaller items, but becomes difficult when trying to slice larger items. Would recommend using a small brush for cleaning.
