About this item

  • Application: This frozen meat slicer can easily cut the frozen food we eat everyday, such as frozen meat, frozen beef, lamb, chicken, bacon, luncheon meat, bologna and so on. It makes it easy for you to finish the job and enjoy a delicious hotpot or BBQ
  • Thickness Adjustable: The blade of this slicer is 20cm, so you can use this slicer to cut meat or bacon with diameter less than 20cm. The blade gap is adjustable, so this slicer can cut the meat into different thickness from 0.2mm to 20mm
  • Material: This slicer is made of 430 stainless steel. The thickness of the steel plate can withstand a lot of pressure, and the simple appearance is very easy to clean. You can turn the two screws on the blade to adjust the thickness of the slices
  • How to use: simply place prepared frozen meat on the slicing rack. Push gently to the side, lift the blade up and cut down, and thin slices come out. It is easy to use. Of course you can also prepare some sausage, lunch meat or vegetable like potatoes
  • Note: Kindly note this meat slicer can't cut raw meat, as raw meat is too flexible to cut into thin slices. So please put the meat in the freezer overnight before slicing. Please also don't touch the blade with your hand, as it is very sharp
  • With this slicer. You don't have to go to the store to buy thinly sliced meat. You can just buy a piece of meat and go back and freeze it in the refrigerator. The next day you can just work with the slicer. This saves a lot of your budget

I was drawn to the Shabu-Shabu words in the description. Indeed, it can cut frozen meat. It can even cut luncheon meat and I tested it with turkey. Unfortunately, there are quite limitations.Another reviewer listed their issues with this meat slicer and I concur with most. The slicer has a limitation on the movement of the back holder. The front holder swings up and down and it will hold a frozen meat solidly (very sharp teeth). I did not experience lots of sliding when pressing down to cut, but given what is used for under the legs, with lots of force the unit might slide. The blade stops at the top surface level, unlike a paper cutter, preventing a clean cut all the way through the bottom of the meat. The reason was because the large screw-head which holds the blade in the front did not clear the surface of the cutter. I used a bit of force on the handle to realign it to the right of the slicer. Then it was able to cut all the way through.Adjustments of the cut thickness can be learned from the instructions, which are for a different model. On this one you move inner nuts and then tighten outer nuts.Lots of manual adjustments, a bit of a pain to clean (need to disassemble blade, etc), make it not the best frozen meat cutter.

I'm not sure what to make of this meat slicer. Every week, we have shaved steak subs at our house, and sometimes it is hard to find shabu shabu steak at the local market, so we came up with the idea of making our own, but didn't have an electric meat slicer. I didn't want to have to spend several hundred dollars for one, so I found this one and ordered it to see if it would work for us.First of all, this thing reminds me of the old fashioned, guillotine type paper cutters they used to have at school many years ago. It works manually, so you need strong biceps to use it. It only works on frozen meats, and only on specific sizes as well. There is an odd shaped spiked slicing rack that is supposed to hold the meat while you cut it, but it only works on large, rounded types of meat (think bulk bologna). It will not hold flat meat, like a rasher of bacon. The substandard English instructions that come with this machine are misleading and for a different type of machine altogether. They mention assembling a "V type loading platform" which does not exist. The only parts that come with this machine that need to be installed are the slicing rack and an L shaped bracket, none of which are shown in the instructions. I had to go to the item description page and look at the photos to see how to put this thing together, and I still don't know if I have it right. We experimented with a frozen steak to see how it would cut. The slicing rack was useless, so I had to hold the steak on the machine and feed it manually. There are two knobs on the side of the handle that adjust the thickness of the slices. Using this machine takes some getting used to; there are rubber feet on the bottom that are supposed to keep it from sliding on the countertop, but they don't work well. Designing this with some type of clamp to hold it to a solid surface would have been smart (the retired engineer in me is now speaking). The instructions mention a "suction cup" which does not exist. The "v type loading platform" would have been a welcome addition to hold the meat steady; even with a very sharp blade, it takes some strength to push through a frozen piece of meat while trying to keep it from sliding around. My attempt at cutting the steak on this machine improved the more I used it, but I did have a problem with the slices sticking to the blade and having to be removed before I could make the next cut.So far, we have only used this to make shaved steak for sandwiches, and it worked fine, although we had to jury rig the machine to get it done; I could get the same results on a raw steak with a very sharp kitchen knife. The instructions say it can also be used for hard vegetables like carrots and potatoes, but I already have a mandolin that I use for that. With a little thoughtful re-engineering, this could be a useful machine to have in the kitchen, but as it stands now, I am very disappointed in it.

After assembly, this machine is difficult to use. I wanted to slice cheeses and make deli meats. I found it to be more difficult than to just try to make thin slices myself. It works much better on frozen meats.
