This is a very nice mortar and pestle set. I bought it because my dog refuses to take his heartworm pills and I needed something to crush them up to mix with gravy. This makes it very easy and the pills crush down with very little effort. It's just the right size, too.

Nice quality and weight. It's a bit rough on the grind side but I'm assuming it needs to be in order to drubd fine.I like it tho

It's really easy to spill grounds out the sides which relegates you to grinding one tablespoon (or about half your portion for one cup) at a time. Takes about 10 minutes to grind. Will be quite uneven, so I'd only recommend cowboy or french pressing beans ground in this. Of course, the material is porous, so if you do wind up grinding coffee in this, you have to commit or simply live with your spices and other concoctions tasting lightly like coffee and vice versa.
