The handle can be on the left or right. The teak platform will last much longer than our last one which was fabricated and dry-rotted. The 3 steps ladder is better since we have tall family members.

well i had this for two years sitting in a garage. really couldnt put it on due to transom being rotted out. well after i get that fixed i did install it. im glad i did cuzz the boat i have once your in the water it is very difficult to get in the boat. i did have to modify the ladder to work on my boat since you know its a 77 crestliner. but i am very pleased with the ladder

Took a chance on this, and was pleased with the outcome. It may not last a long time -- there are some strange choices in the carpentry on the teak that create weak points -- but it fit the bill for what I needed.
