Easy install

I bought this to install in my custom 1965 Ford, after using a volt meter to figure out the range of my fuel sender I found this gauge would work within that range

Got this to replace the still working, but old looking fuel gage in my Grady White. It was super easy to install, which is something I was anticipating to be quite difficult. The gage matched the prior gage's fuel level of 1/2 tank, so it seems fairly accurate. I'll be replacing the rest of my gages with the same style from the same company.

As a Vine Customer I actually use, test and give an HONEST review of the products I request and receive. My star rating scale: 5 stars = OutstandingThis is a replacement fuel gauge so the install was easy. It's accurate and the white face with chrome matches our other boat gauges.

ZYLJHZ Marine Fuel Gauge - Waterproof Boat Fuel Level Gauge 52mm Universal Fuel Gauge:My husband specifically likes the ability to have the led lights change in the background. Mounts and install easily and seems accurate enough. Great to add detail and a nice touch to the dashboard of his boat.

I like that it has options for different input signals

My boat didn't previously have a fuel gauge, and it's a "nice-to-have" that I wanted to add. Even though it's an outboard with portable fuel tanks, you can easily add senders to the tanks, and then add the gauge to the dash so you can monitor fuel consumption. There's a nice article on Hackaday explaining one person's process for doing this. It's hard to rate the accuracy of this product by itself, because so much depends on the sending unit. It turns out that the sending unit I have only has 6 or 7 distinct levels that it can deliver. Internally, it's not a rheostat (variable resistor). It's a series of fixed resistors, so as the float moves up and down, the gauge is going to jump from one fixed level to the next. However, it's clear that this gauge has some low-pass filtering internally. In other words, the needle doesn't snap from one position to another, even though the input is jumping from, say, 3/4 to 1/2 in an instant. This gives some smoothing to the operation of the gauge, which I think is really nice. The motion of a boat is going to make any sending unit vary a bit, and you wouldn't want your gauge needle jumping around in response. It will smoothly move toward the new reading until it gets there. It was very easy to select the backlight color that I wanted, following the instructions. Likewise, it was easy to select the right resistance range for the sending unit (240-33 ohms in my case). I thought it was clever to use the gauge itself to show which input setting was selected. As you step through the options, the needle moves up 1/4 tank at a time. Clearly, the needle is controlled by a servo on a microcontroller, rather than via direct circuitry, which is fine - it's what allows one unit to handle so many input configurations. My main complaint is the lack of much "lip" or overhang of the bezel compared to the body of the gauge. Per the diagrams, it's only .23 inches total, or 0.115" on each side of the unit. If you're installing this in a punched hole on a metal or plastic panel, that's one thing. It's easy enough to punch (or manufacture) a hole at exactly 2" diameter. However, I'm installing gauges on a solid mahogany dashboard in a wooden boat. Cutting holes with that tight of a tolerance really, really makes me nervous. So much so that I'm not 100% sure yet that I'm going to use this gauge, even though I like it fine in all other respects. If that's not your installation situation, I'd say go for it - this gauge should do fine for you. if you're likewise not that sure about getting a clean 2" hole, you might want to look elsewhere. There's just not much there to cover any errors around the edge of the hole. Your call.
