The Easy Alternative to Ceiling-Mounted Atmos Speakers
MartinLogan's Motion AFX speaker is designed to sit on top of floorstanding and bookshelf speakers in MartinLogan's Motion series. These models include the Motion 15, 20, 35XT, 40 and 60XT. Designed to reflect sound off of the ceiling in a Dolby Atmos entertainment system, The AFX will also work with other brands of speakers with a flat top. For systems where a speaker-top mounting is not possible, other installation options are available.

Each Motion AFX speaker features a 0.75" aluminum dome tweeter and 5.25" polypropylene cone bass/midrange driver with stamped steel basket, all incorporated into a beautiful High Gloss Black cabinet. The shape of the Motion AFX cabinet is specifically designed to angle the drivers towards the ceiling in order to accurately deliver a Dolby Atmos sound experience above the listeners.

Speaker Setup
With the Motion AFX, there's no need to make any complicated, overhead installations. Simply place the Motion AFX in pairs (2, 4, or 6) on top of existing speakers and wire to any receiver that's Dolby Atmos enable. Even movies not mixed for Dolby Atmos will be expanded to fill the flexible speaker layouts of a Dolby Atmos system.

This subwoofer is excellent! Love the looks , super powerful and can control it with an app on my phone to fine tune it . No problems and built well I would say it's a high end addition to your stereo and surround system . Highly recommend this product

Despite the great quality of sound that they reproduce, I can't attest to how well they work as Atmos speakers. I don't think they work that well for their intended purpose.

Tried these paired with my Motion 60XTs, Motion Center and LX 16 rear surrounds. Could not really tell any difference at all. I even turned up the channel level on them as high as I could (+12 on my Pioneer Elite SC-LX701). Tried them for a week and was disappointed.I had to strain to notice an 'effect' coming from them. If I put my ear to them they made sound but it wasn't 'reflecting' or give any kind of extra surround sound. My wife said she couldn't tell a difference at all. My 10 year old son said he noticed a little bit of difference. But we all agreed it didn't sound like anything 'overhead'. My ceilings are 8'10" tall. The speakers were right about halfway up. My sitting distance is about 9 feet from the Motion 60XTs. Ceilings are drywall/plaster.Pretty bummed but at least I could return them and got a refund.Might be worth $50. Maybe $100. But not $450 (sale price) and certainly not worth $600 IMHO.

Great speakers! When I bought my first Martin Logan system (even though in the line it’s kind of budget), I’ve become a fan for life. I have (4) Motion 4 speakers with a Motion 8 center channel, and a Dynamo 700 subwoofer. Adding these to my Denon AVR-X4300H receiver even in an apartment, is amazing. Luckily I live on the top floor so the neighbors don’t hear the sound bouncing off the ceiling. Definitely hear the difference. Bought them as an early birthday present for myself. Enjoying this years gift immensely!!!
