Shigarakiyaki (Shigarakiyaki) is a pottery made in Shigaraki, Yamani, Shiga Prefecture. It has over 1200 years of history, one of the six-kilns in Japan.
It was named as a traditional craft from the country in 1976 (1976).
A pottery filled with playful hearts and sentiments of masters who care for "imbalance" with a variety of shapes and expressions created by nature and artisans.
Loochimon (registered trademark) comes from the word of Shigaraki's craftsmen used to mean "Fugawari Mono".
For when you want to change your spine, or when you want to set up matcha for yourself. Also recommended for enjoying sweets!
Dimensions and patterns are handmade, so there may be slight differences in size.

Very nicely boxed, direct from Japan. Feels good in the hand. Quite large for matcha but the spiral markings inside at the bottom (from the wheel) give an indication of the desirable water level. Glaze puddles a bit inside but otherwise is ok. I ordered a second one. There is a hairline crack visible under the glaze inside but does not seem to penetrate the glaze.I replaced the cracked one, just bothered me.BROKE the replacement and ordered a new one.The bowl is my favorite. Shape, size, color. Just perfect simplicity.

didn't really like the silver look all over it. But will work for someone else. It's beautiful, though

Too much different from picutre. I felt i had been duped. I gave beggar for begging pot. I can not believe the bowl was made by Japanese. If Chinese made it, I can believe it.

This is my favorite Matcha bowl. Very sturdy and of high quality. The tea mixes well and remains warm in the bowl. Clean up is a breeze. Well worth the price. I use this Matcha bowl at least 5 days a week. Compliments any decor. Very affordable and well worth the price. Highly recommend.
