All products of the Marumi filter are manufactured at our factory located in Minami-cho, Kamiina-gun, located in the center of Nagano prefecture, Japan. Marumi has continued to focus and solely manufacture and develop camera filters for a long time. They have developed the world's first "DHG" filter for digital single lens based on its technology and experience. The Marumi filter will continue to evolve with everyone who loves photographs and will love the camera. Established in 1952, Marumi Optical has been a manufacturer of camera filters for over 60 years. Until the 1970s, we were a dedicated OEM supplier for German and other overseas manufacturers. Our manufacturing technology and service earned us a reputation for reliability. Upon entering the 1980s, we changed our company trademark to “Marumi”. Building upon our good reputation in Japan as a specialized manufacturer, we launched the DHG Series in 2003. These were the first filters for digital single-lens reflex cameras to reach the market. This marked a new step forward for Marumi as an international brand and helped us become what we are today. Moreover, in 2013 we succeeded in developing and launching our flagship EXUS series. Guided by our company slogan of “Constantly Continuing to Create New Products,” we at Marumi continue to deliver industry-leading filters to customers worldwide. This is made possible by the technology and culture of our Nagano Plant with its integrated production system and through friendly collaboration with our distributors, who are always ready for new challenges. From Nagano to the world, our commitment to quality knows no bounds.

My circular polarizer is one of my favorite accessories, and I wanted to make sure I had the best, so I bought six different ones (77mm) and compared them:Marumi DHG $97.90B+W HTC Kaesmann with Multi-Resistant Coating $96.99Breakthrough MRC8 X1 $59.00Tiffen $37.85Kaza $19.99Amazon Basics $15.99I tried several different situations where I took the same shot with all six, and I found little difference between them. They’re all good. The only consistent difference I found is that the Marumi and the Tiffen are slower (half a stop). If money is an issue, get the Amazon Basics and don’t even worry about it. If you’re not picky, don’t waste your money on an expensive filter. If you are picky, you’ll want to see for yourself which one you like best.

This filter is fantastic. Gives rich color saturation, without looking fake or over powering. Of course, it reduces the glare efficiently, as it should. I also have a B+W XS-Pro Kaesemann Circular Polarizer with Multi-Resistant Nano Coating and I actually like the Marumi much better. It's only a hair thicker than the B+W (barely noticeable) and it's $40 less than the B+W. I get no vignetting at 24mm. Haven't tried it on anything wider, but I don't think you'll have a problem unless you're going wider than 16mm or so. I would highly recommend this product to anyone that's looking for a thin, effective, quality CPL.

A real marvel of optics. When you put lenses worth thousands of dollars in front of ypur camera, you cant be stingy on filters. Marumi DHG Circ polarizer matches in quality with the big names loke Heliopan and B+W, thou it does not have the ni=umerical scale. Optically it is fantastic and at half the proce of these two iconivc brands>

This is the first polarizer filter I've ever purchased that fell apart during normal use. The glass filter and retaining clip separated from the threaded mounting bezel attached to the lens when I removed the lens cap. Naturally, the filter found a convenient rock to land on and was chipped. I purchased this filter for a vacation trip, and, naturally, by the time I got back with the broken filter the return period had expired. So now I'm stuck with a broken polarizer filter and a sour disposition towards Marumi products.

Very high quality coating and just the image results I'd been looking for. I got the 77mm version and I'm using it on a number of lenses, some with a step-up adapter. As you'd expect, the filter adds contrast and separation by eliminating light coming in from certain angles. If is a great way of eliminating harsh glares and reflections, or increasing the blue color of skies. A polarizer is a very useful tool to have in your camera kit.Anyway, I've only used Hoya CPLs before, which may not be the best, but I have noticed that the Marumi filter seems to be less susceptible to dust and oil, which has been a problem with Hoya filters I've used before. The effect is easy to see, but not overpowering, and the non-affected area of the image doesn't suffer image degradation, which is a problem I've noticed with other filters. I'm very happy with the Marumi filter, and definitely plan to check them out next time I'm in the market for filters.

Have been using this for a long time now, and i'm very pleased with it. I picked it up after reading the lenstips.com roundup of polarizers, and this one stood up there with the best of them. What's to like:-Feels well built-Thin, works well with even wide angle lenses-Smooth, but not loose rotating action-Far less expensive than similar quality CPFs-Still has front lip/threads to add a hood/other filter-Very neutral, does not cause any significant shifts.-Cleans up wellConsiderations:-Being so thin, you have to be precise with your fingers to rotate it, and to be careful to only rotate the front stage and not accidentally rotate the thing off the camera lens.Tip:Buy the size that's the largest of your lens's filter thread. My lenses max out at 77mm size, so i use this 77mm filter, and with my smaller lenses i use step up rings. No need to buy a separate filter for every size lens thread.

As usual, Amazon shipped this item and arrived promptly. This is a slim 77mm Circular polarizer. Solid construction - comparable to my earlier B+W that cost almost twice. The polarizing effect seems a bit different on My D7000 & 24-120 f/4 - Though the saturation levels increase and reflections are cut ( actually produced an almost HDR effect in many cases, with much better shadow details without blowing highlights ), there is a little warming effect. The blue sky does not get accentuated because of this warming effect. However, I like the overall polarizing effect and am keeping this.

It amazes me how much multi-coated filters cost these days. In fact the really high-end ones cost as much as a cheap lens!I wanted to get a couple thin circular polarizer filters. This can cost as much as $300 for a 77mm filter. That's a lot of money. So here is a multi-coated, slim-line filter for really cheap. It's well made, fits the lens well, and even has a lip so you can still attach a lens cap. I have pointed these filters directly at the sun and they handle the direct light very well - as well as my high-end Schneider filters, and they're just as neutral. This is a great product - I was not disappointed!
