Purchased to warn off would-be intruders to my boat cabin. If they're determined I expect even small bolt cutters would make quick work of the aluminum casting. Primary value is the warning of the red finish, and that maybe intruders are too stupid to use tools. Handy, accessible lock points that avoid fumbling with small hasp attachments. Good for cold, wet fingers when you're outaa there for times in port.
