This is really nice magnetic tape. I'm using it to make 1" label tape magnetic, and it works perfectly for that. The magnet is as strong as any other magnetic backing I've seen. I think people who are trying to use this to adhere knives or tools to the wall are asking too much from this, they need a tool or knife magnet.It's a bit tricky to apply since it's so bendy after being wrapped in a coil for so long, one nice trick I figured out is to put the magnetic tape on a piece of metal so it stays flat and then apply the paper to it. I'm using a piece of 1"x1" tubing. Works great.

I had high hopes for this, as I needed a way to hang things on the front of my aluminum refrigerator. The adhesion on the back is great, but I didn't just want a thick, gray sticker, and it has minimal more use than that. Many magnets are too heavy to stay on, and it will, at most, hold a single piece of paper. It's such a useless magnet, that it will hardly magnet to itself. It's a horrible product, and I'd give it zero stars if I could. If you're looking for an adhesive magnet strip, look elsewhere.

I needed to do a lot of math in the kitchen, so I bought this to help me magnetically attach a calculator to my fridge. It is a raging success so far! I saw some other reviews saying the sticky side of the tape didn't stick very well, so I took the following measures when taping my calculator:1.) First attached the magnetic tape by itself to the fridge to take the curl out of the tape2.) Cleaned calculator surface before applying magnetic tape3.) After applying magnetic tape, I used 3 small clamps to maintain pressure on the tape while it bonded to the plastic (left it for about an hour this way)After it was finished, it stuck to the fridge no problem! The magnet on the tape is pretty strong, so I'm not worried about that failing. If the adhesive on the tape fails in the future, I'll update this review according. I included pictures of the finished calculator (the indentations in the magnet is from me putting too much clamp force in such a small surface area, but it didn't seem to hurt its performance). Overall, I'm not too worried about it though. It feels pretty secure.Anyways, if you take precautions while you applicate it, I think it'll work as advertised.

If you're looking for a good magnetic tape with medium staying power, this is it. This tape is easy to cut, easy to place, and works well. Just don't expect it to do any heavy jobs because it won't work on them. I'd originally bought it for a free-standing closet whose doors will not stay shut with the magnets that are installed in it at the factory. I thought that a nice long strip of this tape would do the job, but the closet is so poorly built that this wouldn't work on it. It stuck when I tried it alone, but when I put it onto the doors of the closet, it just didn't have the strength to keep it closed. However, I blame this on the closet's construction, not on the tape. I purchased some heavy duty magnets that are REALLY strong, and even they wouldn't keep this poorly designed closet shut. So the bottom line is that this is good tape with great medium strength capabilities and I'll have use for it in other places. But I won't expect it to work on heavy jobs.

I agree with other reviews that the adhesive side isn't very sticky but I completely disagree that the magnet isn't strong. I cut off 4 1-inch pieces and placed them on the back of my 17" x 23" dry erase board so that I could stick it magnetically to my refrigerator. It is holding it on VERY well so the magnets are not weak by any means! It doesn't fall off when I open and close the door, either. Not even once. I tried cutting the same size squares from a magnetic sheet (used for turning your pictures into refrigerator magnets) and it didn't even come close to holding the board to the refrigerator. This is much stronger than those magnetic sheets. The board came with 4 double sided sticky squares to stick the board to the wall and I stuck the magnets to those and then I stuck those to the board in order to increase the stickiness of the adhesive side of the magnetic tape. Depending on what you're using this for, you may need double sided tape to make it stickier.

Little disappointed in this product. My fault - not the products fault. I expected too much - like the Magnet to be really strong. It isn't. And I expected the adhesive to stick to - well, anything. It doesn't.Again, my expectations were too high. If you are displaying your kids report card to the refrigerator, this would be just right. If you were sticking a note on someone's car door apologizing for backing into their parked car, this would be just right.In one instance, I was hoping to secure a light (air) filter that had a magnetic frame - to a metal enclosure. I wanted a good seal, but at the same time, easy removal of the filter for cleaning. I put this tape on the metal box. I used the "sticky" side. Granted, the metal box was painted. But the tapes "stickiness factor" was less than Scotch Tape, and way less than the blue or beige masking tape. Mount Fail.For a craft project or picture/refrigerator presentations, this should work well.

I was initially apprehensive about ordering this because I was not sure if the sticky back was sticky enough and if the magnet was strong enough.Well neither seems to be a problem. I made a few custom magnets out of different things including a somewhat heavy south american tribal mask that my mom bought me as a present about 10 years ago. It's only about the size of an adult hand but it's somewhat akward and slightly heavy. I ended up super glueing some cardboard to the back of the mask to create a flat surface and then stuck magnets to the cardboard. It didn't take that much magnet to hold it on the side of my fridge just fine.It's not too expensive, the sticky back holds up well and stays in place, and the magnet is as strong as can be expected. No complaints.
