I chose this product for a specific reason: A 3/8" rubber line can be clamped onto the threaded end with a 1/4" line clamped onto the other end. No more converting fuel line sizes in a machine that has been overhauled and modified throughout the years. This made the fuel delivery a bit tidier. Mine is run inline without anything to secure it to, other than lightweight fuel lines, and the valve can be a bit sticky. One is forced to hold it while adjusting the valve.I'd recommend holding this shutoff valve assembly securely while turning the valve so as not to break it, especially when installed in something solid like a fuel tank. Breakage occurred in other instances with plastic models similar in appearance. These aren't as sturdy as I would like, but no problems yet. There's really not much to say; they're fuel shutoff valves. With the price of fuel, every machine should have a shutoff. I'm not sure I'd want to install the actual valve assembly into a tank, as it feels a bit flimsy, like many plastic valves. I'd prefer metal for an actual tank installation, but if one wants to convert hose sizes with a built-in petcock, this works great.

Item worked perfectly. Don't forget to use your own o-ring to seal the fitment.

After 34 years the fuel shut off on my wood splitter with a Briggs motor started to leak. I had to take the old shut off out of the fuel tank to get an idea of what I needed. These new shut offs looked like the old leaky one so I took a chance and ordered them. They fit perfectly and best of all…they don’t leak. Don’t lose the old o-ring as these don’t come with one.

You’ll need to use both hands, most likely. At least, these are a little too tight for loose soil to hold them still while turning.

Less than 2 months after installing, fuel gushed out of the top. These are not safe. Also these came as a set of 2. One was cracked and broke apart when installing.
