Product is very fragile and does not last long using a cordless drill. Breaks easy and bustles will flatten.

I have a lot of wire brushes, all different shapes and sizes, and these wire brushes from the MAXMAN Store fill a niche where most of the others are too heavy duty and overkill. In the past I've cut the brush out of a battery terminal cleaner, or used firearm cleaning brushes, but that can be an expensive way to go. This Maxman set has a nice variety of sizes and the fact that they are stainless steel is a real plus. The hex shank means I can use it with my drill driver, which I prefer to a standard drill.The stainless steel is more durable than what I've been using too.

I used one of these to clean a steel tube for welding. It worked well, and all the brushes appear similar in design and construction. The brush cleaned the tube nicely and showed no signs of wear. They appear pricier than some others, but while I cannot say this for certain just yet, this may be a case of “getting what you pay for”.

These are the perfect gift for any do it yourself person. I got these for my husband who’s a mechanic and he loves them. He uses them constantly and they are durable he burns through these brushes quick but so far these are holding up. And the multiple sizes were perfect.

I’m glad to have these because it’s amazing how often I need a bore brush. These ones seem pretty standard as far as build and materials go. I would not use them for a firearm though because stainless steel is pretty hard stuff. Best to use brass brushes for the pew pew sticks. The 1/4" hex shank is great because they chuck right into my bit driver and bit driver extensions. Except for the brushes that are smaller than the shank – they’ll get used for something eventually though. There’s always a use for a bore brush, it’s just a matter of time until you find it.

I picked up the MAXMAN Stainless Steel Bore Brushes as a solution for cleaning out cracks in cement that I had widened for concrete repair. It’s crucial to clean out those cracks thoroughly before sealing them to ensure proper adhesion, and I thought these brushes would do the trick. My initial idea was simple: attach the brushes to my drill, and let them spin within the cracks to clean out the dust and debris. While the brushes did work in some capacity, I quickly realized that their design is better suited for different tasks.The bore brushes are twisted wire with metal bristles, and they work effectively when the brush moves parallel to the surface you’re cleaning. Unfortunately, the design of the brush places it directly in line with the body of the drill, which means it doesn’t always spin in a way that’s ideal for cleaning the inside of a crack. For my intended use, this led to some less-than-optimal results, and I’m pretty sure I ruined a couple of the brushes in the process. However, once I adjusted my expectations and used them for tasks they’re better suited for, I found they performed really well.These brushes are great for cleaning tasks like welding prep or removing debris from cuts at the ends of conduit pipes. I found them ideal for these jobs, especially since they come in eight different sizes. The variety of sizes ensures that you can choose the right one for whatever project you’re working on. In my case, I mostly used the smaller sizes, which worked well for cleaning up metal surfaces and smoothing out rough edges after cutting pipe. The larger sizes are also handy for bigger jobs where you need more surface area.The set comes with a 1/4-inch hex shank, so they’re compatible with both power drills and impact drivers. This is a big plus because I can use them with whatever tool I have on hand, and they grip securely. I really appreciate that flexibility, especially since I sometimes need more torque or a higher speed depending on the material I’m working with.Durability is another strong point for these brushes. After several uses, most of the brushes still hold their shape and are ready for the next job. That being said, the nature of multi-sized kits like this means that some brushes will inevitably wear down faster than others, depending on how frequently you use them. For example, the smaller brushes I used more often have shown some signs of wear, while the larger ones are still in good shape. If that happens, I wouldn’t hesitate to replace the sizes that I use most frequently, which is a nice option if you don’t want to buy an entirely new set.Overall, the MAXMAN Stainless Steel Bore Brushes are durable and versatile, but they’re not the perfect solution for every cleaning task. If you’re looking to clean cracks in cement or other deep crevices, you might need to adjust your technique, or choose a different tool altogether. However, for tasks like welding prep, cleaning conduit, or removing debris from pipes, these brushes perform really well and are built to last. While I did have some trial and error figuring out their best use, I’m glad I added them to my toolbox and would definitely replace the ones I wear out over time.
