Provides added support and fully functional as a step to enter vehicle. The fit was perfect and easy to install. Heavy chrome, shiny and bright for a quality and really good look. For best shine and rust resistance, keep it waxed.

The thickness of the pipes is thin! Thinner than my old ones made by Maar. They did not fit on my 02 and I had to cut and weld the brackets in order to make these fit. Really disappointed!...They do look great once installed but for the price they are not worth the hassle!

These sat in the box for a few days while I tried to determine how much time to devote to the installation. I checked YouTube for any helpful videos, but only found one video for this brand installed on a Ford F150......not all that helpful for my situation. Decided to tackle the job after dinner in the sweltering heat of the Florida summer evening. Set up a fan, got out the socket wrenches, and went to work. Turned out to be easier than I had imagined it would be.The directions were adequate.....barely. My 2009 Silverado 4x4 rides a bit high, so looking at the underside was easy enough. Although the mounting brackets are stamped, I matched each one with the directions and painted them with white lettering (RT FRT, LFT REAR, etc), laid them on the driveway under the appropriate mounting point, and got busy. While the directions indicate to begin on the passenger side, I ran into a glitch with the body mounts there (one was bent inwards preventing the mounting bracket from seating correctly - an issue not of the manufacturer's making - I'll address that tomorrow). I tightened everything back up and moved to the driver's side.Edit To Add : The brackets that attach to the body mounts *will* make a popping noise at low speeds over small bumps as they hit against the body mounts that are welded onto the frame. Took the truck by the local dealership and talked to their body shop man, and he tells me it's a common malady due to the location of the mounting point. GM steps mount differently, and they get no complaints. Aftermarket stuff, not so much. The cure ? Went to Home Debit, got some big 5/8" washers and a few thin neoprene washers to make a home-brew spacer - just enough to put a 1/4" or so between the body mount "biscuits" and the supplied brackets for these steps. Time will tell if my cure works or not. Your mileage may vary. Just be aware that this might become an issue after the install is complete.By now, I had a pretty good idea how this was supposed to go. Loosen body mount bolts, slide on bracket, tighten bolt part way. Once both brackets were loosely installed on the driver's side, I propped the pretty chrome bar up with a piece of foam packing from the box to hold it in position as I screwed in the bolts that hold the bar to the brackets. While it might be helpful to have another pair of hands for that part of the install, it is certainly not necessary. Once the bolts and washers went into the bar, everything went quickly. Double checked the positioning of the brackets and the bar, tightened it all up, sat back and admired my new chrome step.....took all of about 15 minutes for one side. The quality seems good, the fit and finish are just fine for my needs. The price was right, with free shipping, and it's a pretty easy DIY install....even at night, with only a pocket flashlight and a few hand tools. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the directions. If you're at all handy with a wrench, you can install these easily without a hoist or even a jack. GET SOME !
