These are great for holding light objects on pack straps, or on MOLLE/PALS webbing on a pack, vest or belt. Keys, small knife, multitool, light, compass, gloves, hat, small first aid pouch... I could go on about the things I've looked at trying and have tried. They won't hold a 64 ounce steel water bottle very well, but these aren't steel or aluminum meant for heavy use.

I use it with my Maxpedition Riftblade an it was very usefull during my last trip to Europe.
