Installed on extended exhaust of my portable Westinghouse generator. Had to install flange and 9" stainless extension pipe to pass through wall of homemade generator shed. Muffler fit well on pipe and noise reduction was less, but I did not measure volume. I like the idea of the added spark arrester this provided to exhaust, as we have lots of pine needles and leaves that can accumulate here.

I was a little skeptical that this small muffler would quiet my generator as much as it did. Keep in mind that the generator is still pretty loud but not nearly as bad as it was without a muffler. The muffler fits 1 inch male pipe thread (NPT) and works well to reduce the noise to a level that I can now be around the generator while it is running.

This muffler fits exactly how it is supposed to and looks to be a direct replacement for the factory version. With that being said the muffler has been shot for so long on my mower that I can't say whether this one works as good as the factory muffler or not. It is definitely much quieter than the mower with the rotted muffler but I can't say for sure that it works as well as the OEM version. If you are in need of a new muffler and this is the right size I wouldn't hesitate to get it. It dampens the sound and is a great price.
