This worked really well. I got it solely for tires. The main thing I liked about this is the precise edge that I could 'cut' along the wheel with this applicator. The overall size works very well for tires too - not too big and not too small! The storage case is nicely functional with a secure closure and opening to hang from a hook if you like.I have attached pics of the front/back of the package if you care to read the details.Liked it very much! This review is for the Maxshine Store: "MaxShine Tire Shine Applicator with Cover – Mess-Free Dressing & Protectant Applicator for Even Coating & Clean Storage"

The MaxShine Tire Shine Applicator is a nice size and it fits nicely into your hands. Its solid enough to hold onto. When using it for tire black the last thing you want is for your hand to slip off the applicator! The sponge is solid, but not that it would not contour to tires or molding. The lid is made out of a thin plastic and not sure how long it will last as far as keeping the applicator covered.

My detailing kit has needed some "refurbishment" for a while now and while looking for replacement tools / items, I came across Maxshine products. This applicator was one of the many tools I ordered from Maxshine and I have been extremely impressed by just about everything in their lineup. This tire dressing applicator is no exception. As far as I know, Maxshine makes two different tire dressing applicators. This one and another one that's a little smaller than this and square (Maxshine Hydro-Tech Tire Foam Applicator Pad Waxing Sponge for Car Detailing, Black & Red). Having used both, I don't think you can go wrong either way. They both work really well. What I like about this particular one is that it's rectangular, so it can cover more of the tire in one swipe. It also feels just a skosh better in my hand because I can easily get the base of my thumb behind it when pushing it around the tire wall. (But that's probably more of a personal preference.) Like most Maxshine products, it's very well made and offers great quality. What I like perhaps most of all is that it comes with a plastic storage case so if you don't have time to rinse it after use, you can just slip it into its protective storage case and throw it in the bucket (or tool tray without messing up any other tools you may have tossed in there as well. (I'd still rinse it out ASAP to keep it working for a good long while, but the storage case gives you some flexibility in this regard.) I think most detailers (who tend to be pretty persnickety in the first place) will appreciate this small product detail.Overall, a great product that performs well and makes detailing more of a pleasure than a pain. Highly recommended!

I liked using this to apply tire shine but after just a few uses the tool started to break. The foam started peeling out of the plastic and I am unable to use it now.

Foam on the applicator is a bit too soft when you swipe the applicator across a tire, but the build quality is.a bit cheap but it gets the job done!

This tire shine applicator is well-made, easy to handle, and applies dressing evenly without wasting product. Its rectangular shape provides good coverage in one swipe, and the firm-yet-flexible sponge works well on tire grooves and raised lettering. The included storage case is a great touch, keeping things mess-free when not in use. While the plastic lid feels a bit flimsy, the applicator itself is sturdy and built to last. If you're looking for a simple, effective tool for detailing your tires, this one is a solid choice.

I just washed my car today because it was beautiful outside. Afterwards, I used this sponge applicator to apply my tire shine. It has a nice, firm texture that makes it easy to apply the product into all of the grooves and between the tire & rim. I used a whole lot less product this way which will definitely save money in the long run. It feels sturdy enough to use over and over again. I am really happy with this product.

This is the tool you need to evenly apply tire shine or plastic restoration chemicals to your ride. Simple to use and inexpensive to buy. The cover is a good idea to keep the sponge clean.
