I was completely mislead by the image in the photo. Reflex has no movement and is slow in its return. This is fine for beginners and just working out but for training I wouldn't suggest it.

Excellent product for my needs and a lot of fun to use. Great workout.I’m not a heavy user, only one or two workouts per week, but it’s been perfect for me. It’s another bag that I can’t walk past without stopping to hit it a few time.Set up was easy. What took longest was filling the base with sand. The opening is very small and the sand backs up in the funnel constantly. Lots of tapping, poking, and shaking involved in the process. I read that sand is heavier so I went with that and got almost 50 lbs in the base. Then I filled large plastic bottles from the dollar store with sand and put them in the weight bag on top of the base. It’s very sturdy and doesn’t move.I saw people complain about hitting the edge of the plastic cup at the base of the bag. I wrapped mine with a foam weatherstripping from Lowe’s or Home Depot, then wrapped that with electrical tape. Easy to do and easy to replace when it wears out. It hasn’t come loose or worn out yet for me.So far, it’s been excellent for me and I feel like I’ve already gotten my money’s worth. Great fun. Great workout.

A lot of the review are because the base will not stand still. Well the problem is you are using water! Sand is needed for the base and weight bag. Strongly recommend. I used Play Sand from Lowe’s. $5 per bag. I purchased two. One other thing is the directions for the speed adjustment is a little tricky. Speed 1 & 2 are the two different bags. The big bag is Speed 1, and the small bag is 2. The other speeds you have to put the adjuster inside of the spring (BLACK CUSHION). Then the big bag is 3, and the small is 4. I hope this helps out. I love the bag, honestly everything I expected. I hate when review are bad because of user error. I would recommend this to my whole family!

When I started using the bag the first thing I noticed is how impossible it is to keep the in place. I filled the base full of water, put 60lbs of dumbbell weights in the bag on top, and it still moves every time I hit it. This makes it too loud to use indoors/upstairs. I have to lug it down to my apartment's tiny gym. After a couple uses, I noticed that there was water on the floor underneath the base. The carpet I set it on overnight was soaked in the morning. I figured there was a tiny leak, but I didn't want to pack it all up and send it back, so I used a little dab of sealant and by morning it was fixed. It was disappointing and if the leak were any bigger, I would have sent it back right away. But I was having fun and didn't want to stop. The next thing that I found out after a couple more uses was how it cuts my knuckle open every session. The plastic that secures the bag to the pole, It's not sharp, but if you hit it hard enough it will gouge a chunk out of your knuckles. And just about every time I use it I get cut open in the same spot, so the wound never fully heals. It becomes painful after a while. Blood gets all over my clothing, gym, and bag. It's very annoying. The gloves they provide are comfortable and fit well, but they are cut offs and don't protect your knuckles. I don't have a set of full gloves and I prefer using the MMA ones, but it's not worth getting cut open so often. I'll have to pony up for a set i guess.I kept using it a couple times a week and regardless of the negatives, I have a lot of fun on it. It's only limited by your imagination really. I put it on the fastest setting and it really challenges your speed and timing. If you put it on the slow setting, it will swing back far enough to work on slips. It's a great tool to have in your repertoire, and it's fun, which is why I was so disappointed about what happened next....After 8 months of regular use the little screw that secures the pole to the base snapped! And then it was all over....The little screw broke off into the pole and it won't come out. The screw and the bottom pole has to be replaced. IF the screw was larger in diameter, I believe it wouldn't have broke, at least not til much later. It's a major design flaw that maxxmma should and can easily fix.I tried emailing MAXMMA three or four times with no response. So I looked through the reviews and found some other people have had these same problems, and in the comments there was a response from the distributor asking to send a pic of the broken piece and they will replace it. SO I just called the number that was listed, and what do you know, they said they would send out the replacement parts right away. I SHOULD get it in a few days since the shop is a couple hours from my apartment. I will update this when I get it.In conclusion, It's a very fun piece of equipment, worth every penny. The time I enjoyed on it largely outweighs the negative things I've listed. There are a few things they need to fix in the design, but if they do the right thing, after that it should be just as good as some of the higher priced cobra bags out there.

My boxer son has advanced and the mid range spring makes the response time faster. Has 2 bags, one smaller. Note that large bag split near plastic base and company replaced for us immediately. Plastic base bothers my boxer sometimes. Pleasure to work with this company.

Whoever designed this product should get fired. For starters, the base is not nearly heavy enough to keep the bag in place. I filled it with water, filled the supplemental bag with weights and water bottles, and put a 28 pack of water bottles on top of it, and the wiggle on this bag is unbearable. The bladder within the bag wiggles so much it will begin to tear the bag after a few sessions. The main metal pole will also break eventually, as it’s screwed to the bottom with a weak metal screw that will break inside the hole rendering the bag unusable. But the stupidest part of the design is the hard plastic base right under the punching bag. I’ve hit it with mma gloves and I was left with a bloody knuckle, I bruised the bottom part of my finger, bruised my elbow and bruised my toe. Keep in mind the bag is moving fast and the base is the same color, so even with perfect technique you will hit it and you WILL get injured. Other brands like Ringside padded a large section of the bag and metal bar to avoid injury, as it should be. I will never buy a maxxmma product again
