  • Majestic earth/wind/fire/air elements inspired glazes offer gorgeous, varied colors for any firing kiln ceramics project
  • High-quality semi-opaque and opaque glaze sets are ideal for Cone 06/05, although can be set in higher Cone temperatures
  • Crystals are easy to apply and spread out during firing to give a burst of color for a truly unusual, authentic appearance
  • Art glazes can be used in combination with other glazes, by themselves, or simply as an accent to your design or art piece

Organic, earthy, rich, and elegant glazes transform like magic in the kiln! Watch as small pieces of glassy crystal burst into color during the firing process. These high performance opaque and semi-opaque glazes can be used as standalones for stunning effects, in glaze combination blending with Stroke & Coats, or simply as an accent to your clay or pottery designs. With bold, lush tones ranging in warm and cool tones inspired by Earth's elements (from Rust Red, Copper Adventurine, Sea Spray, and Mirror Blue down to Wheat, Burnished Steel, and Black Ice). Set is ideal for achieving a high fire look at low fire temperatures (ideally Cone 05 to 06). Element Glazes can be fired at higher ranges than the recommended Cone 06/05, but will change in appearance (try testing prior to use). Three to 4 coats recommended with a soft fan or glaze brush. All glaze appearances will vary based on texture, design, and firing effect. Lead-free. Non-toxic; ACMI AP Certified and conforms to ASTM D-4236. Sold as pack of 12 plastic containers with 12 assorted glaze colors (each containing 4 ounces). Food safe when fired. Freeze/Thaw stable.

Not at all as shown. Totally different glazes when fired.

Great way to try different colors. Especially helpful when you're not a professional, but enjoy playing with pretty; it's nice to have a smaller size and options. Wish there were more options at this smaller size.

I made tiles to see how the glazes looked when fired. What I learned from doing that was that it saves in not having to clear glaze it if I want a flatter glaze look or clear glaze for a glossy look..

I was crossing my fingers that my glazes would arrive intact. Unfortunately, it didn't work.

I recently purchased the Mayco Element Glazes, 4 Ounces, Cone 05 to 06, Assorted Colors, Set of 12, and they have truly elevated my pottery projects! This set offers an impressive variety of colors, each one vibrant and rich, giving my pieces a stunning, professional finish. The glazes are easy to apply, whether brushing, dipping, or sponging, and they dry smoothly without any issues. The consistency is just right, providing even coverage without being too thick or runny. I love how the colors blend and layer beautifully, allowing for endless creative possibilities.Firing these glazes at Cone 05 to 06 has been a breeze. The colors stay true to their pre-fired appearance, and the final result is a gorgeous, glossy surface that adds depth and character to my ceramics. They also work wonderfully on a variety of clay bodies, making them incredibly versatile. The 4-ounce jars are perfect for small to medium-sized projects, and the set of 12 gives me a wide palette to experiment with. The quality and range of these glazes have exceeded my expectations, and they've quickly become a staple in my studio.Overall, the Mayco Element Glazes set is a fantastic investment for any ceramic artist, from beginners to professionals. The vibrant colors, ease of use, and reliable results make this set a must-have for anyone looking to enhance their work with beautiful, high-quality glazes. Highly recommended!

These work great, the issue is the colours aren’t what are shown in the photo. They are mayco colours just not the same as what’s shown.

Some of these are nice but none that appear on the red/orange/brown come out that way on cone 5 on red/white clay. They come out blackish. So does the dark green one: The blues are good and the steel color is great. Like a matte steel black. Do test tiles before you commit to a project is my recommendation these seem finicky. Could be me though so I’m giving 4 stars in case but would do 3 if I had more faith in myself.

The return window just closed by a day. I did not see the results of this glaze since I have my ceramics class only once a week and just got my pieces back. I brought these glazes specifically for some special gift pieces I was making. The instructor fired to Cone 05 and the results on my pieces were terrible as you can see. Other classmate's pieces all came out. Instructor asked to read the label on my glaze bottle, thinking I brought for the wrong Cone firing, but she said, no, it's bad glaze. The rest of the class member's pieces using mostly Duncan glazes all fired and came out well. We use the same clay and I was the only one that used this Mayco Elements glaze.Worst than the wasted money for these glazes, it the pieces I lost that were presents I was to give next week : (

Easy to apply, holds well, and fires beautifully! The colors and textures are beautiful, and the Copper Adventurine has tiny flecks of metallic gold in it that show up wonderfully when fired. The pictures of the fired glazes do not do them justice. They are much prettier in person. I am very pleased with these glazes. It does take 3-4 coats to get the full effect of the glaze, but it is worth it. Instructions say 3 flowing coats, and they mean it. But wow! they make pretty fired ceramics. I highly recommend this product.

I bought this set for my first grade students' fall leaves project because a few of the colors would work for the "fall leaves" effect. The copper adventurine ended up being my favorite because it has a golden sparkle to it on top of the copper color. The wheat turned out to be best on something with texture. On something flatter it just looked like there was a coating of honey mustard. The sea green looks oily with green spots which was a really awesome effect on the leaves. The burnished steel was shiny without being runnyBut the mirror blue left a few holes on my smooth pottery. The patina is matte and smooth.
