I just started this the other night and realized that this is going to be a challenge, in a good way. I have done many other counted cross stitch projects before, so I am not a beginner. This one has over 60 colors (DMC included) and there are a lot of color changes instead of big solid color areas. It is going to be awesome when it is done since they obviously spent time with the pattern and the wide use of shades. I am marking off what I have already stitched so I don't lose my place.

When I saw this kit I knew I had to make this one! Very pretty design.The kit includes a pre-printed cross stitch canvas, colored embroidery floss on a numbered separator card, needle, and color coded cross stitch chart. There is also a color converter chart with corresponding DMC floss numbers.On the reverse side of the plastic pouch the kit arrives in, there are printed instructions as well.This project requires that you use three strands of floss for stitching. I’m hoping there is enough floss included to complete the project. It seems as if they included a generous amount of each color.A note about the instructions on the back of the plastic pouch:They are a bit confusing to read because of sentence structure, but nothing that can’t be figured out.The thing I didn’t like most, was the color coded print on the canvas itself. I know this was done so as to not be confusing, but the colors are so very different than the actual embroidery floss colors, it was more confusing for me personally. Best the colors are close to the actual final product in my opinion. I’ve never had such a stark contrast in color in kits like this before.Overall, I’m pleased with this kit. It’s of good quality and the final design is going to be beautiful.

I've been cross-stitching for many, many years and I don't usually like the pre-printed items. But, I saw this picture and thought I would give it a try. This is an 11 ct kit, so the size is nice and large to give your eyes a break. The key is also on the side of the picture so you can check a lot easier that you are using the right colors. All of the thread is already sorted for you. This is a great kit to just relax with. I also like the price!

I got the Starry Night kit.The project comes in a resealable plastic bag. I like this because it makes it easier to keep up with things. The back of the bag has basic instructions for cross stitch (but they're extremely basic).Some basic info: the finished size is 46 x 32 cm. It gives you the DMC colors for the floss, which I really, really appreciate, because I always worry about running short of thread.The chart is appropriately detailed, but it's very, very small. You may need a magnifying tool or take the image to a print shop to blow it up (if you're new to cross stitch, you may find it helpful to know that there are clear plastic rulers with built-in magnification-- these help keep your place and give you some extra eyesight!).The colors are rich and appropriate for the piece.Do be aware that some kits in this listing are stamped and some are counted. The Starry Night is counted, not stamped, and it might be challenging for beginners. This kit also has very minimal instructions, so cross stitch beginners would need to consult outside sources to learn the ropes.This particular kit is probably not the best choice for absolute beginners. It's attractive but maybe not the best place to start. I would recommend choosing one of the brand's stamped options if you're an absolute beginner.

This is a big project. This probably isn’t a beginner project due to the size, but also due to the very minimalist instructions that it has. If you’ve never done cross stitch before, this could be quite overwhelming. The project does come with everything you need, canvas, numbered thread, needles. I just wish the instructions were more detailed. As it is, I will need to go find a few online tutorials to clarify some things. Not a big deal for me as I’m used to searching out whatever info I need, but it might be for some purchasers.The fabric is not pre-printed, so it is really counted cross stitch.

I don’t like half stitches so mine are full, on the wall. I did this project to tie a date and the people to an iron bed we’ve had handed down in our family that was given to my great grandparents on their wedding day. This will always go with the bed so in generations to come they know where and when the bed entered our family. As I started the project more folks in the family became interested in it. Now there’s 4 family members working on it for their homes.

I haven’t started on this yet. Trying to decide how I want to dig in. My impression so far is very favorable. Instructions are clearly printed on the package back. The pattern is clear and printed over six pages. The materials are very nice quality. I wish the kit included more than one needle. I can only imagine I’ll lose it quickly and bought a pack of replacements that I keep with the kit. The embroidery floss is vibrant and I like the printed DMC equivalent. I keep thinking to myself it would be handy if I want to make the pattern again. All in all, I’d highly recommend. The one thing I wish I did do was order gridded fabric at the same time I ordered the kit.
