I have tried at least 4 other Wii to HDMI converters, even the Portholic one they praised for being good. ALL OF THEM showed diagonal interference lines on my TV's. Even with my old TV when I used an analog cable, I had those annoying diagonal lines. This one did the trick! No more diagonal lines, I can finally enjoy the Wii without being annoyed by the interference. It is the only one that is also smaller than the other ones so apparently there is something different in there. I am happy :D

Default settings on the Mayflash look great. My older Sewell HDMI adapter needed me to turn the brightness down to 37 on my TV to get proper picture clarity, and also I had to reduce color intensity. On this adapter, I went with default settings. Sometime I fine tune the adapter and put it on brightness 47, instead od 50, and decrease color intensity from 50 to 49, but thats a much smaller change than the Sewell.Overall, this 480p output over HDMI looks great even on my 4K TV. It'd be great to see what it looks like with an mClassic or mCable when I get one.

I used to have an adaptor that cost about £6 and the quality was awful; with wavy lines running across the screen. The Mayflash adaptor is king by comparison and well worth paying the extra few pounds for.

This product works exactly as advertised! No more annoying diagonal lines moving through the picture. Also the audio quality is more crisp and not squashed or sharp and abrasive when producing higher tones. You won't believe how good the wii looks with mayflash, 10/10 reccomend! Thankyou so much!

My daughter mentioned about her memory of playing Rhythm Heaven Fever. And I decided to connect my old Wii in the storage. Then I realized my TV does not have Component video input terminals. A quick search brought up this Wii Hdmi adapter. It was simple to plug this at the back of the Wii and use a regular Hdmi cable to any TV with Hdmi input. Well, things are working perfectly and now we are playing some of our old favorite games again.

Part of the "It just works" product line. This adapter straight up, just works right out of the box. You plug it in where your AV cables used to go, plug in a HDMI Cord and it'll just work, no extra cables or anything. It recognizes as an hdtv signal on the wii system settings too, so make sure you change that and if you have homebrew, you can enable an option that changes the wii menu to output at 480p instead of the 480i resolution.

Don't bother with the cheaper Wii 2 HDMI made by Slave Labor, LLC. You can pony up the extra ten dollars for this! There is virtually no signal noise, so no more annoying diagonal lines! The full picture comes through and looks incredible! Great item, great price, simply the best option for playing the Wii on modern TVs!

Have had good luck with Mayflash products in the past, so decided to give this a try instead of a more expensive Retrotink solution. It has a nice form factor that it easy to take with on the go and plugs in easily. There is no audio delay over HDMI like some of the reviews on competing products call out, and there isn't any noticeable input lag with the device. That said, the picture cuts out frequently when setting the resolution on the Wii to 480p, this issue is not present on 480i. After looking into the issue further, it looks like this is an issue with most HDMI adapters when trying to handle a 480p input source. Going to be trying the Retrotink solution after all

(Update: It has been 2 years plus since my purchase and this adapter is still working perfectly. In that time I have tried even brands and still haven't found any that are as good and reliable as this one. I have now purchased three more of these and the new ones work just as good as the original. Each of my kids are now using one to play the modded Wii's I got them and even they are impressed by the picture quality and apparent lack of lag. Imo this is still the one and only HDMI adapter for the Wii to get.)I have tried Sewell, portholic, musou, generic white one and a generic black one. I also tried a generic white one sold and shipped here. The sold and shipped one was doa and all the others had issues. They all suffered from the diagonal lines that moved across the screen to some extent. If I remember correctly the sewell seemed to have the faintest lines which could possibly be ignored and in some games be unnoticeable but it had the lines. All the others had the lines and it was noticeable at almost all times. Dark reds and blues really made the lines obvious. This mayflash one was actually the one I considered before trying any of the others but the small size had me worried they skimped on some of the components but its performance seems to say otherwise. For starters all the other ones feel like they are 3d printed but this mayflash one feels like the normal plastic you expect to feel. I imagine it is nothing more than abs plastic but it feels more sturdy and better built. The smaller size makes it look much better plugged in to the wii. The picture quality is impressive. It is the first one to look every bit as good as my component cables. If anything my tv makes it look better. I guess my tv upscales hdmi better than component signals. There is no noticeable lag increase that I can tell either. To be fare I didn't notice much with the others but this seems just a touch quicker, except when compared to the sewell witch seemed to be the same with lag. I also noticed this Mayflash adapter doesn't get as warm as the others. All of the other ones got very warm and after a couple hours was hot to the touch. This mayflash one gets warm but never anywhere near what I would consider hot. I even left this one on all night to see how it copes since I have had bad like with all the other adapters but by morning the temp was exactly the same as when I went to bed and the picture was still perfect. To summarize this is the one and only wii to hdmi adapter to consider. I have yet to see anyone who owns one mention anything about diagonal lines like the ones that all other adapters suffer from or mention anything about this model dying. Skip all others and buy this one. If for some crazy reason you have an issue then try another one but save yourself the hassle and start here. I am blown away by the picture quality and didn't expect a 408p image to look so good on a 4k tv.

This is the newest adapter of its kind since this review was written. I have tried others like it, but there were always issues. The most common issues with Wii to HDMI adapters come in the form of audio that sounds awful during gameplay involving multiple sound effects, or very distracting scanlines on your TV. This adapter is the only one where I had none of these issues in any way, and it's smaller!Currently, Wii to HDMI adapters are in high demand because of upscaling technologies like the MClassic and MCable. I bought this product because I heard from other people that it's compatible with the MClassic. Unfortunately, it did not work with my MClassic. It's important to note that I did not try to use any other devices to get it to work with the MClassic. What people will not tell you is that you may need some type of splitter or device that can repeat the signal to make it a strong 480p before using it with the MClassic. Despite registering as 480p on your TV or Monitor, the MClassic doesn't detect it very well coming directly from the adapter. So if you're okay with spending a little extra money to achieve a higher resolution for your Wii, I would consider this product a must-have since it takes up little space.
