My 20 hp Briggs & Stratton mower would not start. When you turn the key, the engine (starter) just clicked. The old solenoid was bad. This part was a direct replacement for my B&S engine. I disconnected the battery ground, then removed the old solenoid and installed the new one. Connected the terminals, wire clicks and battery ground. Turned the key and the motor started as expected. There are a few different styles of solenoids, so make sure you get the correct one. Some solenoods have one wire clip while others have two. This specific model has two wire clips. It fit correctly and will (hopefully) last for many years. The old one was over 12 years old and just would not function any more.

Item would not work. It will click but no continuity through the relay contacts when energised.
