This is the best and easiest manual tool for bending and cutting. The person that designed this knows what works. It bends and cuts. #3, #4 and #5 rebar sizes.Has an adjustable bending radius that sets the bend just right. However, the cutting is 90 degrees from the bending. So, you have to move the cutter sideways or move the rebar sideways. Not a big deal for me. Contractors I know use this one.The two built in cutters make nice clean cuts.Don't mess with the hickeys and other simple benders. They will bust your butt and won't bend as well as this one.It is worth it in time and effort saved.

Saved me a lot of time and money on the job because of the speed of cutting and ability to bend cleanly. It was very easy to use and after leaving it out in the elements it will definitely last a while with its build quality. It is a little bit heavier than I’d like but that’s kinda what you want out of a tool like this anyways. I’m also a battery tool fanatic but I like the practicality of this tool especially knowing that you can prep a whole concrete pour with no dead batteries or needing to plug something in.

Works well for the occasion big job. I built my own pole build and cut up a bunch of rebar for the footers. Definitely takes some muscle, but did hundreds of cuts on both#5 and #4 grade 60 rebar. I had to mount it to a longer board and put my weight into it. It can be a bit jarring, as the rebar can release suddenly, but once you do a bunch of cuts, you can start to feel where it’s about to release on each cut. It bends much easier than it cuts (it really is more of a break than a cut). If I did this professionally, I’d definitely buy a quality electric cutter/bender. For the occasional large DIY job this is great.

I'm building an earth sheltered home in the Rocky Mountains SW of Denver. The build is a 2 story steel reinforced concrete dome with several bundles of #4 schedule 60 rebar. This tool is amazing for cutting and bending.

If you have a rebar project, you cannot live without a bender. BN products make several, but this model is great for #3 #4 #5 rebar. Already mounted on wood base. This is heavy duty and your UPS man will be happy you don't order one of these everyday. Even if you have a single project, worth it to buy long lengths from your local Steel Distributor and bend/cut to fit. Resale this any day of the week after your done. Ton of guys looking for one and glad to pay cash to get one at a discount.

I bought this to use in my hobby of making rebar art. I watched a bunch of videos and decided to purchase the cutter bender. On the videos they make it look very easy to cut and bend #5 bars... but its not so easy.... #4 and #3 are much easier. Overall a great well built product and has made my art projects easier.

I've been using this tool for several days now and it works very well for bending #4 and #5 rebar. I have not attempted to cut #5 rebar because I generally find that this is too hard on the body vs. using an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel. Cutting #4 works well. One small problem was encountered (hence the 4-star rating), the spring pin that locks the main cam broke after a few bends using #5 rebar. The tool was still functional but more difficult to use because it would allow the rebar to move forward during the bend - which is problematic when a precise bend is needed. After replacing this few pennies cost part, the bender is working perfectly again.

My company naught this for installing a ICF wall inside of an existing structure. Typically two people would be operating this bender/cutter which makes it much faster/easier to use because one person can operate the lever and the other can hold the rebar in the appropriate position. Although this unit could be operated by one person. We typically use a chop saw to cut rebar but that was not an option since we were working inside, obviously no problem using this inside. Half inch material is easier to cut and bend than the 5/8 but it will still bend and cut both material. The adjustment knob was the only thing that is a little confusing, in my opinion they should put the readings in inches instead they have it listed in MM but once you figure it out it's not that big of a deal. I really like how the cutting edges are open and you can cut exactly where you want instead of it being closed like some other units. Overall I am pleased with our purchase and would buy this product again.
