I bought this for my 5 year old baseball player. I bought a size xs. It is a bit long on him but we could barely get it on him. I had to stretch the neck and even then I could barely get it on. I also think this may have been used. There was no tag on the item when we received it. It was folded in a clear plastic bag.

Needed to purchase a larger size as my son has outgrown his previous one. Was pleasantly surprised to see this cheaper - almost $20 - here as opposed to Dick's Sporting Goods. Having owned this exact brand previously, it lasted over two years with heavy use and constant machine wash. It is light weight, not itchy in anyway (no tag), and doesn't restrict movement. At just over $20 for an item that is a requirement in some leagues, this is a great deal on a high-quality piece of protective equipment.

This item was as described. My only issue is that the neck is super tight. I actually had to cut it out for my daughter. She could not function with how tight it was but once I cut it out, it has been fine. The sizing chart is pretty accurate. She has not taken a hit to the check but it's good to know she has the extra protection as a pitcher.

Our daughter plays pitcher in 8U, but we are playing against some big girls and stacked tournament teams so we bought this for protection. She said it was comfortable and we feel better with some protection there for her chest. Her is height same the children in her class and team, but she is skinny. I did an extra small and it fits perfectly, she wear size medium girls shirt (some brands are a little big on her) and size 6 pants if that helps anyone.

This is a fantastic chest protector!! My son had heart surgery as a baby and the type of surgery he had, he is not supposed to be hit hard in the chest! His cardiologist is allowing him to play basketball and this protector has given us a peace of mind due to the fact that this shirt is extremely durable, disperses the impact, and holds up to MANY washes!! He was stiff armed pretty good and he didn’t even feel it!! He is pretty tiny, 4’6” and weighs 60 pounds! I got him the youth medium! Doesn’t fit tight but fits pretty well when tucked!! I will definitely be buying this shirt for years to come!! He also likes it cause it’s not hot when he plays and very lightweight!

At the moment I can only attest to the fit. Bought this for my daughter to wear while pitching. She says it's comfortable and not too bulky. Didn't affect her pitching or batting. It fits as expected. We bought the youth small. My daughter is 9 years old, approx 50 lbs, and normally wears a size 6x/7 top. The youth small fits her perfectly, snug as expected, but not too tight, and just barely comes above the neckline of her jersey. She'll likely be able to wear it for 2 seasons. Can't say anything about the protection just yet as she hasn't taken a ball to the chest while wearing it. Not that I'm complaining. :)Update: 9/26/16 - She's been wearing this chest guard for a year now. She still loves it and wants to wear it anytime she is playing. Even if she's not pitching. She took a line drive back at her on the mound this weekend that hit her wrist/forearm and bounced up into her chest. Only her wrist/forearm hurt. No chest pain or issues at all. It's held up being washed many times and still in good condition. She's now 10 years old, weighs 59lbs, wears a size 7/8 top, and the Hex shirt size Small still fits her just fine. Updated picture (gray shirt) shows her wearing it now. Picture with green shirt was last year. Still very happy with this shirt.
