Protects against "ramp dragging" Yes that is about all it's good for. If you boat in skinny water like here in the keys you'll need to reinforce the lower half with 1/8" material or the first time you catch a sandbar it will fold over.

Installed easily on 2017 Yamaha 250 VMAX. Haven't had it on a week and it already saved me some scraping. Hit bottom today and after inspecting my skeg - not even a scratch! Nice !
