I would vote these worth the investment, work really well for wet sanding and flex really well over contoured areas.

I purchased one of these many years ago (atleast 20 yrs). This new one is made from a different more flexible foam. That said I have not had any problems, and truth be told it might work better in curves and edges. For the work I do (guitars) I like this way better than a stiff piece of wood. I have not evaluated this pad against similar items.

I restore antiques and this is the best because it smooths and polishes. When I remove the lip from a buggered up screw with a rubber mandrel in my Dremel I can then remove the rust and smooth the surface with this 2000 grit sandpaper before polishing. I restore Edison, Victor, and other sound boxes for wind up record players cylinder and disc and this allows me to produce professional results. I have used this for over ten years with wonderful results.On aluminum Columbia reproducers it allows me to remove or lessen damaged areas and restore. It works perfectly.

This foam block is outstanding for wet sanding. The foam holds the wrapped around sandpaper well and it's flexibility is great for sanding around corners. Perfect for sanding out auto paint imperfections and for restoring clouded headlights. Excellent!

I do like it and it has already been useful but it's hardly "hi-tech" is it? It's just a rectangle of foam rubber which probably costs 10p per 100 to produce.

I bought these to wet sand an area of my car that went head to head with a curb (underside of the nose in front). I followed the directions, had a bucket of water right next to me which I used after 10 or so strokes each time and this stuff got rid of every scratch VERY quickly! In fact, maybe too quickly. I didn't expect 1000 grit to be as aggressive as it was. I started seeing paint color coming off after a very short time of sanding, but it still did the trick. It was either this or pay someone $500 to paint that section of the car that is super hard to see anyway. I might recommend 2000 or 2500 grit for auto paint, because this will go through clear and paint pretty quick!Otherwise, they were easy to use (I used a flexible rubber sanding block with it) and they stayed together long enough even when wet to get the job done. Recommended!

I got this to aid in preventing uneven sanding to my truck bumpers while prepping the surface to accept paint. The block is rigid but soft and it easily accepts sand paper being wrapped around it. I was able to get a wider sanding path and keep it nice and even for a very nice scuffed surface for painting without getting an uneven paint job. I highly recommend this product.

I work in an auto body shop and needed a backing pad to do some wet sanding. I had tried others first, and wanted to see how Meg's would stack up to them. So far I have liked it far better than anything else I have tried. It's soft and flexible enough to get into areas I otherwise could not. I loved the price as well! This product easily compares to other backing pads I looked at that cost 3-4 times as much. Great buy!
