Sturdy. Thick. Padding is formable for shape. The lock holes will not accommodate a 1 inch shackle. Must use 2 inch locks.

The gasket doesn't seal properly, and not worth the price. Then again, they are cheap for a reason.Don't put your expensive rifles in these; maybe your airsoft toys.

There are people who prefer soft cases but myself, I like a good hard case for all my stuff especially storage needs. It just provides more peace of mind know that I can stack something on it, it can fall and tip over, or it can be in a little rain and be just fine. That's not something necessarily that can be said about soft cases. Anywho, this cases build quality seems more than just adequate. It has 4 clamps that feel good and keep the lid tight and secure. The foam is pluck foam so you will need and can customize the case to your layout and rifle. The case does have some heft to it so please bear that in mind as well. Seems like a good case at a decent price.

I read the previous reviews written on this item, some good, some bad. Thought that the bad ones may have been being just dramatic, I was wrong. Out of the box there were latches that were already broken. Needless to say, it is going back tomorrow, and I've already ordered another Plano 52" hard case. The Plano is damn near bullet proof. I'll say one good thing about the Meijia case, the padding does seem very good, other than that, garbage.

The first thing you will notice on this case is the weight of it. At least I did on the large 53 inch size which is pretty solidly made. Start loading that up with some accessories and your firearm and you may think you are packed for a trip. The outside shell has raised molded ribs and underside has 12 molded raise plastic pads for case to surface touch. The buckle down close clamps (four of them) do a good job to hold the lid tightly along the front of the case and ends, but no clamps on the ends. On my case I did not notice any warpage so it seemed like a good seal around the whole inner waterproof they say parameter. And there are two top to bottom connection points with hole for your security lock to go for a secure lock up.The large size is pretty roomy inside with pop out foam sections to match what you are putting in the place of the foam removed. This is great of course for those weapons with sights all zeroed in as a great way to keep them that way by not getting banged around as with your typical soft case. With all the room inside it can be real tempting to really overload this case with enough weighted items for a tired hand on a long carry. But it seems like a durable enough case to handle that along with whatever normal abuse it can get on the outside during some rough ride transport sessions. I like it, good case.
